Goal for us were:
To have a house big enough to bring a family up in.
Then it was to get married.
Then to be financially sound enough to support the family on just Hubby's wage, so I would not have to go back to work.
Finally we went on our last big holiday. We went to Disney World.

Our goals were to survive the first 2.5 years of marriage, since more than half of them fail before that point.
We occomplished it quite well, lol.
Other than that we just had plans to eventually get our own place, buy a great dane, and eventually a better car. We got two out of three, now we need a better vehicle, but that will come.
When your husband is 30 and employed by the federal government, and free leases a house from his parents theres not a whole lot to set up before starting a family.
I had wanted to get into better shape before getting pregnant, back to where i had a six pack and could run a 5 1/2 minute mile... but that didnt happen. lol. I had to settle for toned and 7 minute mile. meh, what can you do?

Nope, no goals. I suppose I had personal goals, but they were way before kids. In college, I said I wouldn't get married till I graduated and I wouldn't have kids till I was done with my Master's. I accomplished both. I just lived life to the fullest before even thinking about kids. So when it was time to have kids, there was nothing left "undone." And I don't fall into the belief that you can't do anything or go anywhere anymore with kids. We take our daughter with us everywhere. She's 8 months old and she's been to countless restaurants and 2 vacations. If she starts to fuss in the restaurant, we just get our food to go, it's not a huge issue. And we've never liked going to movies, so that wasn't a big deal either.

We never set any goals, but it also took us 4 years to have our baby girl who is now 14. Goals can be unrealistic, you might disappoint yourselves if you set to high of goals. Just live, let things happen, learn from your mistakes, be happy!

our personal goals is to be more financially stable, we have one child now, but will not try for another one before we know we can at least handle the doctor bills, which right now we can't. While we both know you can never be fully financially ready for a baby, it does help to at least be able to put some aside before you start trying.

Me and my hubby said that we would wait 2 years into our marriage before we had kids. But we didn't wait.We couldn't get enough of each other..so we trashed that idea and now I'm pregers!!But we still plan to have our OWN house built by the end of next year! He's in the Navy so we have to work with the time provided.

I've been a mom since I was 16. My goal was to make it through without my son being too scarred and to give him a stable life. So far, so good.

The most valuable goal I have as a parent is to be the most patient and calm parent that I can be. When things get really hard, I just remind myself of that one thing and you'd be surprised how quickly it comes true.
