You say, "I would never name my child something ridiculous though" and proceed to list four ridiculous names.

You seem to have your heart set on making your kids come home from school and cry their eyes out every single day of their life and end up lonely and sad...so go ahead, do their baby room in lava lamps and let them smoke pot and hey why not drink too? put a little beer in their bottle, what will it hurt?
If you REALLY must name them after some rock star, why not just use it as a middle name like John Lennon (your last name) or Ferris Axil, or Madden Frehley or Josa Jovi or something like that

I guess you have to think about how your child feels with a name which isnt really his... it was someone else's who you 'borrowed'. I dont know your last name, but I cant imagine many names sounding nice with the above choices. My mother who teaches 1st grade has had some children come through her class with names like Jesse James, and Ida Trout... poor things!
I even said I didnt mind being named after a song in answer to your other ?. I'd lean more towards doing that.

I think it's important to name your baby a name that means something to you. What sounds good with your last name? What are people going to be able to pronounce (an important consideration - my name is ALWAYS mispronounced)? If you name your baby after a rock star, it should be one that has really impacted your life. If I had a boy, I would have loved to name him Prince.

Make sure that you dont name the baby an opposite sex name. I was named after Fleetwood Mac and I am a female, I have a boys name but every one thinks it's cute. Go for it!

I like Lennon and Jovi...but I agree with the other answers that Axel is a dog name. My friend once had a bassett hound named Axel and it ran away.
