I just put our 9-mo old baby down for a nap. He usually falls right asleep, and naps make him feel better & keep him calm the rest of the day. Usually takes 2 naps during the day, one at 10:00 am next at 2:30 pm. However, today he cries in his crib because he doesn't want to nap.

Is it better to give up on the nap & pick him up? Or let him cry some and fall asleep eventually?

I know the nap will make him feel better the rest of the day. But I read in a book that you "should always respond immediately and completely to your baby's crying". I don't want to neglect him into another Dahmer, but then again will some crying and ignoring by me really hurt him? (Plus I need some time to shower, straighten up the house, etc.) I'm very confused, advice is so conflicting.

This is our 1st baby and have had no problems with him, he is a delight.

I thought maybe it was the dark, so I got toys that light up so he could see, but it didn't work. Even driving with the over head light on does not seem to calm him down. It wouldn't be so bad if I didnt have to do any night time driving, but that is just inevitable! Any suggestions?

I am trying to ween my 4 month old from nursing. He took a bottle fine for a week, but now he just screams. I am a little frustrated. I love nursing, but I need to stop for a number of reasons. Does anyone have some suggestions? Thank you!

I am not making this up. My 6 month-old baby girl starts crying every time a man talks to her, and she even looks scared just to SEE them looking at her. She even fears a good friend of my mother-in-law's, whom my baby has been seeing since the day she was born!

Of course, the only man she's not affraid of is her dad....

But what is the cause of this?

Thank you!

My daughter is 8 months old. She does the army crawl phenominally well. She can get to wherever she wants super fast. But, she doesn't sit up on her own yet. She'll get on her hand and knees and rock and she'll even get on her knees and sit up that way fine. But not on her bottom. She's a petite little thing, only about 15 lbs. It almost seems like she's nervous/scared of sitting. Oh, she also pulls herself up on stuff too. Just wondering if anyone has anything to say about this...

i asked a question about formula and lots of people responded about their formula choice not making their baby spit up....

does that mean your baby doesn't sipt up AT ALL??

my 1 month old spits up a fair amount, but i never considered it something to be concerned about....i thought that's what babies do.
am i wrong??

of course i'll be discussing this with his dr, but what's up with your kids??

thanks!

This has been going on since she was 5 months old. We have tried everything to get her to "want" her Daddy like she wants me. He works until 5 or 7 every afternoon, could she be mad at him for going to work? She is okay with most other people. It hurts my husband's feelings so bad. What can I do, has anyone else had a similar situation?

My daughter will be four months on the 29'th. How much formula do you think she should be drinking. She is big for her age and she wants to eat every 2 and half hours. I give her 5 ounces and cereal in her bottle at night.
