Vegetarian is very healthy for children. Sometimes children stop eating, at one point or another all four of my children stopped eating, it didn't last. They go through stages of eating like their legs are hollow or not eating or just grazing. Give him a day or two of feeding him when he asks for it, if he asks then he is fine but if he doesn't then take him to see a doctor. When children become more active it is normal for them to lose some weight, they are burning their baby fat as it takes more energy to walk and run. Be calm and face each stage as it comes.
I am Australian, please don't judge us by that moron up there. That baby died as the adults were feeding the baby an adult diet, no other reason, salt, the lot, a really bad diet. As vegetarians you know what to give to cover all vitamins so ignore that person up there ^

Have none of you people any education about vegetarians? Mushrooms MEAT for vegetarians. Protein is available in vegetables.

He's probably teething. Kids/babies, sometimes stop eating if they're teething.
But you should take him to the pediatrician as it may be something more serious such as a soar throat or other infection.

At his age he needs plenty of protein and carbs. You may be vegetarian, but don't force that upon him until he's of an age where he can decide.
He needs at least fish protein to help him built muscle mass. There are simply no vegetarian ways for a growing child to gain muscle mass that they need without having some flesh nutrients.

Some children take longer than others to get used to eating solids. If you prepare his meals yourself, make sure that the veggies are thoroughly mashed ( used the food processor). He may be able to pick them up from the plate himself but maybe he needs more time to get used to the texture, so continue to use the food processor instead. Or buy baby food in jars. Its more expensive but its worth your peace of mind, if the litle one eats it. I always take a little toy car to the high chair and we play with the car while I feed him. It distracts him. Sometimes, I even have to sing and dance to him, but at the end, he finishes all his veggies.
So he can get used to other textures, offer him stuff like a Bio or Organic version of Cheerios ( they don't add all the sugar). COntinue trying new things. They all have their own corks and you jus thave to learn them. My son, for example, will not eat any
fresh fruit! We have to dry his fruit and then he will eat it. Or he will eat it from a jar, but never fresh, even if he is starving. So, we are just giving him some time and room to acquire the taste and we still keep showing him the fresh fruit now and then. My son absolutely loves rice, so any veggie that I mix with rice, he will eat it. Try that. And I give him Gerber baby vitamins (in drops). Some days they just do not want to eat. We adults have our days too. But knowing that he took his vitamins makes me feel less stressed out about it. Good luck!

My sister in-law is vegetarian and she was adamant that her child would be too. She has had to rethink her ideas as her child's health was suffering, like yours is. Protein is necessary to muscle development and you are depriving him of that basic nutrition. As he is now walking he will need more food. My advice would be to feed him whatever he will eat, even if it's meat. You don't have to have meat with every meal but offer it to him a few times a week.
Kids go through different stages as they grow, mine both went off meat for a while at different stages but I never deprived them of it, it goes on their plate they either eat it or not. If they won't eat it they get extra veggies to eat. So long as they eat, grow are loved and are healthy.

hmm i do no longer think of R&B has been reliable for a on a similar time as, despite if I do omit the days of Joe and Tyrese, those adult adult males can sing... there are some human beings i admire plenty ***John Legend*** Ne-Yo (self admitted stan of Ne-Yo) Bobby Valentino (i understand he's kinda a form of J. holiday dudes) yet yea, extraordinarily now that there is that this line that blurred between R&B and dad such as you spot human beings like T-discomfort and Akon positioned out R&B sounding tracks all of it mixes at the same time to deliver down the form. the single element i'm going to declare is that I easily have continually felt an criminal duty to hearken to stable RHH yet while it includes R&B I oftentimes do no longer ideas whats on the radio...

There's nothing wrong with a vegetarian diet. Dr. Spock himself advocates a VEGAN diet for babies. As far as main foods, are you ova-lacto, ova, lacto, or vegan?

Good foods (depending on your type of vegetarianism) would be beans (cut/mash chickpeas, kidney beans, etc), hummus, cheese, yogurt, egg yolk, avocado, whole wheat pastas, baby cereal (they should eat fortified baby cereal until at least 18 months), well-cooked lentils, tofu, whole-wheat bread products, smashed olives. Add, of course, fruits and vegetables as appropriate.

Try preparing the foods different ways...some babies like bagels, but not bread, or crackers, but not pita. I know babies who will eat one shape of pasta, but not another. Some babies like really coarse foods, others much smoother. Experiment. And don't forget babies need a lot more fat than adults, so, dont' forget to give him some higher-fat foods (egg yolk, avocado, etc.)

There is no such thing as a vegetarian baby. You are starving him. In Australia a couple stood trial for child abuse and murder when their baby died on a bad diet They were naturopahts and should have known better. And on another occasion people kept a german shepard on a vegetarian diet and were surprised when it attacked without warning
Oh and by the way the vegetarians here went to jail for a very long time
STOP STARVING THE KID.
as a nurse--- if I knew where you were I would report you!!!!!!!!!

Stop the veg thing with your child. Children by instinct like things that make them grow, like protein and carbs. Basically, meat and pasta would be his favourite.

read him a book while you feed him. he won't pay attention to the food and you can 'hide' the veggies in the spoon.
