My daughter has a cold I'm guessing since that's what we all had, but she keeps coughing a lot at night and she has a lot of snot (sorry!) I keep sucking it all up with a baby asperater and using the baby saline salution, but it's not helping. I try proping her up at night and that deosn't help either. All those are suggestions from her doctor, and it's not working!! She's not runnig a fever or anything, but she's just been really fussy. Any suggestions would really help! How can I help her get over this? It's been about 2 weeks she's had this and I feel so bad for her.

My son did great with the Huggies diapers until a few days ago. I bought him size 3 diapers and they are not working for him anymore. I dn't want to buy this brand, because I'm scared that they are going to leak again even in a size bigger or with the overnights. Anyway, I'm looking for a good overnight diaper which is better at stopping leaks, Pampers Cruisers, White Cloud diapers, White Cloud Overnightes or Luvs diapers. My baby is a boy. Thank you for your time.

I would like to get my 5 month old on a bottle, I have tried several times and nothing has worked, I've tried 4 different types of bottles, I've tried pumping my milk and also 2 different kinds of formula, his gramma and his father and I have all tried to get him to take one, but he refuses. He does not want to take it. We've been trying for 2 months now about once a week. I am having surgery in about a month and it would make life so much easier for everyone if someone else would be able to feed him as I am not supposed to be doing any heavy lifting (he is 5 months and weighs 23lbs). Thanks for the help, any advice is welcomed!

I am pregnant 6 weeks now with my third child. My eldest is 6 and my baby is a year. I pretty much think I'll be good to go swinging this but I have one concern.

I pumped for both my previous kids, and with this one, I want to do the same. I am not interested in directly breastfeeding, so if that is your advice, please, let someone else respond. I am not comfy with that option.

Anyway, I have a Medela Advance, and honestly cleaning it is the worst time consuming thing! Does anyone know a quick way to do it? Or, if it's safe to clean just once at the end of the day? I don't want to be bothered with so much cleaning with a new baby and two kids. I only plan to pump this time for 3 months, and if things go well, I may shoot for longer. If things are too hectic, I will just formula feed with no worries after the first six weeks, I do plan to go that long in any case.

Just hoping to know if anyone knows any shortcuts!!!

I have a six month old daughter - yea! - and I have the feeling I may not have her on the right routine. Any suggestions? Let me give you an example of our day...

7 am - wake up. 1/4 cup cereal 1/2 jar of fruit 4 oz bottle.
9-930 - nap time - 6 oz bottle. she sleeps around 1.5 hours.
11 am - lunch. 1 jar of veggies, 2-4 oz bottle if still hungry.
1-130 nap time - shorter nap - normally an hour. 6 oz bottle.
3 pm - dinner - a chx dinner or something like that.
5 pm - 6 oz bottle
630 - fruit or veggie and then bathtime/cuddle
715 - 6 oz bottle and then bed - she sleeps 12 hours. Very rarely waking up.

Do I have her on the right schedule? Should I be changing something around...I feel like all I do is feed her!! Any advice would be apprecaited. Thanks!

Yesterday, my 6.5 mos daughter started licking her chin, she looks really funny, but is already starting to get a rash from her saliva.
She's already got her bottom teeth and the top ones are not through the gum yet, but they're about to.
I told my mother-in-law and she told me with my neice (whom she has raised) that the dr said to put carmex on the rash.
I just wanted to share this bit of knowledge with any other new parents and see if ya'll had any other suggestions

My 5 month old does not like to sleep! He does not like to take naps during the day, the only way to get him to sleep is to put him in his swing and play music until he falls asleep. I've been trying to get him out of this habit and so far it's not working. Also at night he refuses to sleep, I keep him up until 8pm, nurse him and put him in his crib, but he wakes up right away and starts to cry, if he does stay asleep it's only for 20 minutes at the most. I let him cry for a little bit, but he will work himself up so much that he chokes himself and can't breathe. He'll do this sometimes until midnight and when he finally goes to sleep it's only for an hour, and he then gets up every hour after that. Please help I am getting no sleep and have started to fall asleep sitting up while feeding him at night! Can't do this much longer.

My baby is almost 8 months old and won't lay down to go to sleep in his cot anymore. He used to do it every nap, but now he has learnt to sit up on his own and can stand up using his cot bars he has no interest in sleeping. I try laying him down and patting him but he is constantly fighting me. I try to do it for as long as possible before I lift him out and cuddle him to sleep. The last time I was patting him for over 20 minutes and he just screamed! He is teething at the moment so I am hoping that this just a temporary thing, but does anyone have any good tips before I go insane!!!!!

Have you ever heard this old wives tale if a baby develops early they are moving out the way for the next child. My wife and I hear this all the time. Our four month old is and has been developing fast. Mothers stop us all the time and ask how old is she when we tell them their moths drop and she is doing that already or she can sit like that be careful she is moving out the way so you guys can have another one soon. Even our pediatrician says she is developing really well and passing all her mile stones early. The thinking is the child is trying to walk and talk so that you have less to worry about with the next baby. Just wondering because we have no intention of having another one for a few years but everyone is saying for us to double up on birth control because if not we will have another one before next year is out.
Ps jsut wondering if any one has heard this before

Im sorry i had to ask this question but sometimes i get a little scared that there is no one waiting to embrace my son. I believe in our Lord but these thoughts keep running thru my head. He passed away 3 weeks ago and we only found out about his tumor 2 months ago so everything went very fast. My heart feels empty and i cant stop thinking about ways that i may have helped him. If there is a god, then why does he do this? Im sorry, i love god, but sometimes i get angry at him too.
