My son loved......only took the ones from the hospital that you can order online...

they have a vanilla scent to them...call the hospital and ask what brand they use...Actually, they started selling them at Target recently...Soothie...Vanilla Scent..

Or maybe your baby just doesn't want a paci...most don't

My son is 11 months. He does no longer take a pacifier. He did as a newborn and up until eventually he replaced into about 3 months old. After that, he in basic terms not in any respect wanted it and may want to get disillusioned each and every time we did attempt to positioned one in his mouth!

I have some friends whose babies would only take the Nuk pacifiers. My daughter won't take a pacifier too often, but when she does she takes a soothie. Most of the time she's happy if she can just get one of her thumbs into her mouth. Things have been a lot quieter since she's been able to coordinate getting her hand to her mouth!

My daughter is uber-picky about binkies. We too tried all of the ones that you listed, and the ONLY one she will take and not projectile-spit across the room is the Gerber Soft Center Silicone Pacifier (not the orthodontic one). If you go to http://www.gerber.com/pacifiers/index.html and click on the pacifier finder, then traditional, it's the only one that pops up. You can actually get them with a latex nipple too, which my baby prefers, but she'll do the silicone.

In a pinch, she'll accept the PlayTex Binky Comfort Flex "Most Like Mother" Pacifier ( http://www.playtexbaby.com/bottlesandpacifiers/products/pacifiers.asp - scroll to the very bottom), but the Gerbers are her faves.

Don't worry about it. If he doesn't like them then don't push the issue. My neice never liked them and her dad always tried putting them in her mouth well at about 7 months he got what he wanted she started taking the pacifer all day long! And you know when she finally gave it up? 3 years old. Not worth the hassle if you dont have to deal with it!

Just consider yourself lucky

NONE of them above.......I don't believe in them!

why do you need pacifiers?
there is no need for pacifiers?
what for?
you're just creating a problem for yourself later........

so why start something you don't want later??

Obviously this is a sign from your baby HE DOESN'T WANT IT....

so whhhhhhhhhy are you forcing it on him????????

take it as a blessing.....

one less problem you have to deal with later!

well here are the pros and cons of using a pacifier if you decide to use one......

mabye if you dip the soother in formula you can coax him to take it? Mabye he just does not like them? That is kind of a good hting, and if your babe is now teething can you try a teething ring or anything else for him to suck on? I do know that they can be fussy, my baby likes the avent ones but does not like NUK mabye you can try nuk.

We use the NUK brand, but if you're baby doesn't really want one, it doesn't matter what you try. Maybe he doesn't know how to suck on the different nipple yet, try popping it back and forth in his mouth until he catches on. Sounds like if he's sucking your finger, he has a strong sucking need....best of luck.

be thankful he's not using one. Once they use them on a regular basis, it's hard to get them off of it. I don't plan on using one with this baby, only as a last resort. My daughter used hers until she was a little over 2 years old.
