Pregnancy & Parenting - 27 December 2007

Ok my son is 6 and a half months old and not last night but the night before at midnight he woke up and had puked everywhere. Well yesterday till like 6 in the morning that is all he did. He puked up bile and was dry heaving. well I got 8 oz of Pedilyte... not all at once down him. Then about 5ish he held down a4 oz bottle. well now today he doesn't want to eat and he has diareha(SP).Oh and I took him to the Ped. yesterday and he said to just keep up with the Pedilyte. Well now he doesn't want anything. Should I take him back in or should I wait a bit and see if he eats some later. And yes I am a first time mother and I have no idea what to do

I am so sick of people freaking out about spanking your children. I was spanked and I spank my children. I dont get out of control and beat them, never have and never will, my mom did use to beat us pretty bad, but I will never beat my children. However they do need disciplne, and I find that a swat on their butt does not kill them regardless of popular belief. I also beleive that if some of these sniffling brats now days were spanked more often they wouldnt act the way they do. I just want to know where you stand on spanking your kids.

My brother has a PSP and I have a DS, so I figured I'd bring those. There's a DVD player in the car, but we don't have any new movies and the kids will only sit still for so long.

I guess I could bring coloring books. Maybe some snacks like Goldfish or something. Ummm ...

See, the thing is we're going to be doing most of our driving during the day. So I need ideas of stuff to keep them not-annoying!! xD

Also, we leave tomorrow (I pretty much just found out) so there's no time to go out and buy anything ...

And if you have any ideas for kid songs, tell me because I'm planning to make some CDs. The kids love songs like Who Let The Dogs Out and stuff like that.

i have a 4 month old boy and my best friend just recently had a baby boy too who is now 3 months old.
I talked to her the other day about how her baby was doing
(she is in the navy and lives in washington now) and she said he is getting sooo big. He holds his bottle with a little support and can now roll over!!! my baby jacob hasnt rolled over yet and he definatley dosnt hold his bottle, he can grasp it but cant hold it up yet. i know its only a month different in age but is it ok that my baby hasnt rolled yet? He can support his head almost perfect and has alot of upper strength, he can sit with back support. just hasnt rolled over yet...
he has a dr. appt jan 30th so if he hasnt rolled by then, i will ask about it cause by then he will be almost 5 months.

We are going camping at the fresh water springs here in Florida. We want to go in January when the weather is approx. 70 degrees-ish. The water is a constant 72 degrees. Do you think that we'll actully go in the water with the outside air being the same as the water temp? Would you go? My mother accidentally hit our 5 year old family Pug yesterday. It was a complete freak accident and she was driving carefully, he just ran under the car at the wrong time. When we got to the vet, he was already dead (he probably broke his neck instantly, we just didn't want to believe it until the vet pronounced him dead). My mother blames herself and is very upset as he was greatly loved by our family. How can we persuade our mom to forgive herself and accept that it was just a freak accident?

My husband is out to sea for awhile so I have been looking for the right name. I finally came up with the perfect name for our baby boy and all people do is harrass me and try to get me to change it.... cause it sounds dumb or its to hard to spell.... How can I deal with these types of people??

The name I choose is Braedyn. Its Irish and it means "Brave". I thought it was perfect for him.

My 6 year old son is completly out of control.He is mean and spiteful. He is constantly hurting his brother and sister. My husband/his father are not violent people. He refuses to listen to anything I say. I have tried spankings,rewards,grounding, spending alone time with him taking away toys everything I can think of. What is wrong with him? He can sit and play video games for a very long time or watch tv, so his attention span is average. I hope somebody can give me some advice.

ok im wierd my periods are never normal. my last period was april 19th 2007... but my due date is feb 26th... i have this little count down thing and it said i concived june 4th?.. the ultrasound gave us the due date becuase my periods are not on time... so when did i concive? or is there no way to tell... i was just wondering i know im wierd wanting to know but im makeing a scrap book thingy and its just a funny thing im doing and wanted to know when i concived.. thanks!

I am constantly dismayed by the ever expanding empire of baby paraphernalia. Honestly, if I bought into everything the marketing machine leads me to believe I "need", I could probably just throw common sense out the window and surely, good parenting would simply happen because I am so well equipped.

For me, the baby food companies throw up red flags... Nestle(eek!) et al... Luckily, I am provided with a handy "schedule" of when, how and what to feed my child. From the puffs to the stages? to the consistency... how can I go wrong? Too bad more foods don't come in little pots!

Ugh... sorry!
