Pregnancy & Parenting - 16 December 2007

My daughter only gets gifts for Christmas from me and her dad. Since we're separated, he spends about $250.00, and I spend about $200.00.

Does this sound like too much? after all, she doen't have grandparents or aunties and uncles buying her anything.

I don't buy alot for her throughout the year, so these are things she's been wanting but I usually can't afford. And I only got half the list!

Ok this is my situation, im 32 week and 3 days I have diabetes, type 2 ,my pancrus work off and on, i take insulin and i also take pills and diet to control my levels, but since i hit my 7th month my levels wont get under control, i am eating the same way i was before and am taking higher doses of meds then i use to, but it is simpaly not working, my question is can this affect my baby this far alone in pregnancy and if so can i request for my pregnancy to be induced for thr safty of my baby, i have had two previous miscarriages and i would just die if something happened to this baby this far along in pregnancy i am very concerned for my unborn childs well being, also i went to go my ultrasound two weeks ago and the doctor says that she is measuring the size of a 3 month old and weighs 5lbs, and 8 oz already, if my blood sugars are staying out of control, that means i cant have a c-section if she is too big, so can you please help i dont know what to do my nerves are on edge. HELP!

i had to have a c section a month ago, about two weeks ago the pain was almost completely gone. now i am starting to have pain like in my stomach muscle area (not at my incision that seems to be healing fine). i know that it is common to take long recovery from a c section, but is it weird that i was feeling so much better and i am now in pain? anyone else experience this?

I'm going to be living three hours away from the hospital (three hours with good traffic) around the time of my due date.
I have a few risk factors that could mean a long labor and large baby (needing an emergency c section anyway)
AND, Im worried about fecal and urinary incontinence and the baby being in the birth canal too long.

Seeing as I understand a c section ='s more pain in the long run and thats not why Im trying to get one, do you think my DR would agree if I gave him those as my reasons?

Hi, My mother gave birth to my older sister 8 weeks early, then me 4 weeks early then my younger sister 2 weeks early. A lot of people have said I will most likely have mine early too as my Mum did but I asked my midwife and she said probably not. My mum was small 5ft and slim I am the same - Does anybody have any experience of this at all? I am just worried because the hospital I am going to does not have a special care baby unit but I know me and my elder sister both needed help as we were so tiny and premature?

Also if anyone reading this is from the UK - please look at my other questions I posted them last night and have no answers - Don't worry if not and THANKYOU x

While I was "tied up" here on YA ..... my 5 year old daighter decided to give her 3 yr. old sister a new haircut .....

I guess I am officially a bad mother now, right ....?

In my own defense, I was pretty certain that my 4 cats were supervising them .... it sure looked that way, anyway ......

In fact,one even tried eating the hair off of the floor ....

I have already posted about this, but I'm a mess over it, so any help would be appreciated! About 5 days ago, I realized my breasts had been killing me for almost a week. I was starting to feel nautious a lot. So, I took 2 tests. They both came back with very very very faint lines. So the next day I took 4 more. 2 of those cam back negative. 2 came back with faint lines again So I waited til yesterday & took yet another test. That line came back a little darker than the previous but still wasn't BRIGHT. This morning I had my best friend (who we know isn't pregnant) pee in a cup. So did I. I did the same kind of test on both of us. Mine has a barlely visible line. Hers has absolutely nothing. So now I'm wondring...am I pregnant? Am I not? Was I & I'm going to miscarry? I know..I should just go to th doctor, but I feel like having someone else tell me I'm not will break my heart. I feel like it's consuming me. Shouldn't the lines be getting darker, not lighter? What should I think?

They are very small and tiny bumps. They sem to be everywhere on her face except fpr her little nose. At first I noticed the bumps on her neck and the chinky part of her face where the eyes are. The doctor told me that it was normal and probally came from having milk drool down her throat or from having some vomit reach her neck. He just informed me to make sure either were wiped promptly. She does have a tendency to drool out of either side of her mouth but not excessively.She has vomited a couple of times as well. Shes 1 month old. So maybe about 4 times at the most. As a first mom I guess you can say that Im overally cautious but im worried and it does hurt me to see my little one with all of these tiny little bumps on her face. Based on the doctors instructions the ones on her neck seem to have cleared up but I have no understanding about the bumps on her face. He said it probally was baby acne but it's spread on the face since our last visit. How do I get rid of this bump problem?

I found myself having an affair with a married man. He as 2 young daughters. He was always complaining about his marriage but stayed in it for his children.
I recently found out that I was pregnant and that he was the father.
He is begging me to get an abortion, because his daughters would never respect him if he had another child with someone else. He says he doesn't care so much for his wife, that his worry is mainly his daughters.
I am against abortion, and can not see myself having one. But the situation is far from ideal.
I need some people to give me advice, i don't need to be judged, i know i sinned and i don't need to be reminded. This won't help at all, I just need advice.
My heart leads me to want to keep this child, but I feel like it would affect so many people's lives, including my child. I just can't think straight. I want to keep it but I don't know if it's the best option for me and the child. Also, should take the father and his family into consideration?

I have no fears of public bathrooms but I do have problems with them, I dont like them at all... I go to the bathrooom when I wake up in the morning and then go after school, but somtimes (wednsday) I dont get home till 9 because of church, I dont like usuing bathrooms outside of my own in my house... I dont like cleanlieness or anything... I think its gross.... but I know it cn hurt you, I just really dont know how...
what should I do? because somtimes I feel like I am going to explode but I will not go anywhere but at home, when we went to kentucky last year I went twice in four days, that has to be harmful....

I have 3 children ages 7,2 and 5 months. the first is a girl and the younger ones are both boys. I have wanted another girl for the longest but got boys instead (which i am very thankful for). i know friends who used thew shettles method to get there specified gender and it worked (for all 8 friends and family). so what im asking is should i go for the little girl ive wanted even though i have a 5 month old? hubby does not care either way but everyday i think of being preg again and having another girl..would u go for it? and i do love my other children with everything,just want that other little space filled with pink again!

Now, I dont want this as a career. I want to volunteer. I want to go around to local highschools and teach to them.

I am still somewhat young (25). Dont you remember all those guest speakers you had in school?

I want to teach them about AIDS, sex, pregnany, Love, STDS,

We decided on Caleb for the first name but can't figure out a middle name. He's due next Saturday....
Here's the issues:
Husband's name is Christopher and i like Topher but he thinks it sounds retarded. He likes his name but our last name starts with a C and has a K sound. Then his brother said we could nickname him 3CPO- gimme a break!
He also likes Cameron but that's another C plus i have issues with that name (weird people with the same name and it sounds too much like a girl's name)
I like Jeffrey (deceased parent's middle name) and Zachary but i can't get it together.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've looked around even on here and everyone seems to be having girls.

my 2 year old is depressed. u see his daddy has deployed to iraq for the 3 time. the last time my son was a baby and was clueless. well my son cries daily for him doesn't sleep throughout the night, won't eat half the time the other half throws up from crying do much. i know that he need time but its been almost 2 months. he has lots of his daddy pics . but he still is sad all the time. i took him to the doctor and they told me i could put him on drugs. i not into that idea. i've have read every parenting book but nothing seems to help. see he only 2 so he has no concept of time. he a sad and mad little boy. he doesn't understand why his daddy had to go to work far away. and advice?

About 12 yrs. ago, I was in 7th grade, & my teacher told us how a pregnant girl asked her to use the bathroom. & the teacher's reply was, "No, 'cuz you shouldn't have laid in bed & got pregnant. Now deal with the consequences!"

That's quite evil. That lady didn't even know if that girl could've gotten molested or raped & gotten pregnant by accident.

***Would that have harmed the baby for holding her urine in too long? Bad enough when you have to pee really bad, but even worse when pregnant.

I have no desire for anything sexual whatsoever. In fact, the thought of it makes me want to get sick. I'm around 11 weeks and DH is starting to complain about not getting any. The thing is, he NEVER wanted it before I got pregnant unless I was on my period and he knew he couldn't have it. I've tried to "help him out" but it seriously makes me gag. I feel terrible.

Any suggestions on what I can do? Haha. I already know what some of you answers will be but I'm just curious to see if anyone has some sort of good idea they can pull out of their ***.

By the way, I'm bi and we have brought other females into the bedroom solely for him, but I don't think I can handle knowing he's with another woman right now. I guess I already feel alone in this.

I just find some of the comments to my questions interesting, and some of the questions I see on here as well. Women have been having babies forever and they were doing just as much work as the men back in tribal times, so why do women think now when they get pregnant, that it's not ok to do ANYTHING!! If you do any kind of work you will hurt your baby. I refuse to be one of those women who expects everyone else to do the work while I just sit around and get fat. I worked with a girl who refused to do everything because she was pregnant and she wasn't even showing yet. She wouldn't lift anything, she wouldn't bend over if she dropped something and she was constantly going in the back room and eating and leaving everyone else to do her job. When my best frineds daughter got pregnant they refused to leave her at the house alone because she might get upset and that would hurt the baby. Anyone else think this is stupid or been around people like this?
