I have already posted about this, but I'm a mess over it, so any help would be appreciated! About 5 days ago, I realized my breasts had been killing me for almost a week. I was starting to feel nautious a lot. So, I took 2 tests. They both came back with very very very faint lines. So the next day I took 4 more. 2 of those cam back negative. 2 came back with faint lines again So I waited til yesterday & took yet another test. That line came back a little darker than the previous but still wasn't BRIGHT. This morning I had my best friend (who we know isn't pregnant) pee in a cup. So did I. I did the same kind of test on both of us. Mine has a barlely visible line. Hers has absolutely nothing. So now I'm wondring...am I pregnant? Am I not? Was I & I'm going to miscarry? I know..I should just go to th doctor, but I feel like having someone else tell me I'm not will break my heart. I feel like it's consuming me. Shouldn't the lines be getting darker, not lighter? What should I think?

P.S. My perios have been a mess for the past 4 months. Last time I had one was Nov. 1 through the 7th. So, by a normal cycle, I am late.

you may be pregnant! A faint positive is still a positive. It doesn't sound like you've missed a period yet, and preg. tests can detect the pregnancy hormone at 50 (some are more sensitive but are more expensive). In other words it's still very early, and the levels have to start from somewhere, so you may have a faint line for a while. Normal hcg levels are usually less than 5 in not pregnant women, so you see levels need time to grow from just about nothing. I wouldn't worry about a m/c just yet.
Levels are stronger with the first a.m. pee, since the urine has been sitting around in the bladder for a while. So if you test later in the day and if you drink a lot of liquid, that can dilute the hormone in the beginning, thus you get a false negative. That may explain the fluctuations in your test results.

Even faint lines are positive. While there is such a thing as a false positive, one is rare and more than one is almost impossible. I took 4 tests when I was finding out if I was pregnant, and they all had extremely faint lines. I am pregnant though. There just might not be a lot of hcg in your system. Some women say that they take hpts later in their pregnancy, just for fun, and sometimes they come back negative but they still have healthy babies. It's okay. Make a doctor's appointment! Congratulations!

pregnancy tests only detect the hormone in your urine. if you are early in your pregnancy then the line will come up very faint. if you read the instructions on the test box it will explain all of this. the tests i took with my oldest son came up very faint, almost invisible - but sure enough i was prengnant! try using a different brand if you haven't already. other wise, go to the doc where they can do a pregnancy test in the office and tell you for sure. their test are a little more sensitive to these kinds of things. good luck.

If you have faint lines then you ARE indeed pregnant. My friend had a faint line and she tested in the evening. She has a healthy 4 yr old now.
Definitely go to the doc. Not sure what to say abt. your negative test results though. Call a doc and get bloodwork done to confirm.
Good luck!

I'm pretty sure you are pregnant. I had one false positive a few months ago but I've never heard of a woman having more than one false positive. Get the digital pregnancy test and test on the day you should have started your period. Call your doctor on Monday and tell them everything you told us and they'll probably let you come in to confirm your pregnant. Good luck!

you acquire pregnant the 1st time. whether the line is faint, it nevertheless means +. some manufacturers have lighter strains and others will seem darker. It says good on the educational that the strains will the two the two be dark or the single line would be lighter or very faint yet all of them propose +. So definite, you have been already pregnant because of the fact the 1st actual try you took. Congrats!

Faint line to me would be a positive. You may try a test with the first morning's urine, as it would have higher concentrate of the hormone the test picks up.

i think you are pregnant. in addition to your other symptoms, the tests say that any faint line means preggo, and you dont get false positives! some people just dont have as much hormone to show up positive. there are even people who go their whole pregnancy anddont show up positive on a home test. i hope youre excited! congratulations!

its possible that you are prego... usually false positives arent common. a line is a line.. its probably light because you dont have enough hormones being produced yet to detect it and produce a bright line.... i would def go to the drs and get a test done there because a line is a line and a line is POSITIVE...
GOODLUCK & CONGRADS (if you are)
