Hi 1st Time Mom!
I too am a first-time mother, and my daughter is two months old. I just went through this same problem. My daughter's face was covered with little red bumps - it's actually baby acne. Her pediatrician told me that it is suspected that many newborns get acne because they are going through a hormonal change - their bodies are getting rid of all their mother's hormones. However, baby spit-up makes the problem worse!
My daughter spits-up a lot! So she had a lot of these bumps from about 3 weeks - 6 weeks. She is now 8 weeks, and I rarely see any bumps anymore. I found that washing her face every morning and night really helps. You don't need to use soap, just warm water on a cotton ball or washcloth. If she spits-up throughout the day, be sure to wipe her face each time. If she starts to get dry from being washed too often, be sure to add baby lotion (in small amounts) on her face.
I did a lot of online research on baby acne a few weeks ago and found that it is nothing to worry about, it will go away soon! =)

Infants around one month-three months old often develop a type of "baby acne"... that disappears by the time a baby is around four months old. It is a result of the hormone surges that their little body goes through. My oldest daughter had it pretty severely when she was around a month old- all over her face. It cleared up by the time she was three months old, and she was just fine (she's 9 years now). My younger daughter had it, but not quite as bad. It goes away as soon as the hormones go down. Do NOT put anything on the bumps (like acne cream or face wash), because it can severely irritate or even chemically burn your infant's face. Just continue to wash her face as normal, with water, every night, and after she eats. The baby acne will clear up soon.

since she's only a month old, there isn't any particular medication out there to help her get rid of these problems. At this point, her skin is very delicate so you shouldn't try to solve this problem on your own. What you can do is gently wipe her face and neck occasionally. My daughter has the same problem. Use baby lotion on her skin, and keep her clean @ all times. Good luck..

Hi,
I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.
In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

It's normal baby acne and it goes away on it's own. Just keep your baby clean. I believe my doctor said I could wash my daughter's face with Cetaphil twice a day and that helped. Good luck!

I would take her to a Pediatric Dermatologist. My sister had a similar problem when she was a baby and it was a reaction to the formula she was on. When my mom took her to the dermatologist they tried out all different formulas until they found one right for her. As she grew older and my mom tried to get her on regular milk she would always vomit when drinking it and they put her on soy mlk, but as time went on she could drink regular milk fine. I am not saying your daughter has the same thing but it would be a good place to start. Good luck and happy holidays on your baby's 1st Holiday Season.

You really need to read "Banish My Bumps" by Angela Steinberg (also available in electronic format here: http://www.banishbumps.com ). It's about how to permanently cure your Keratosis Pilaris naturally. I was able to clear my skin in only 7 days after reading this.
Stop paying paying each month good money on creams. This is exactly what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to do! They want to milk money from you each month.
