Kristiana (beautiful name by the way) will probably be shortened to Kris, Krissy, or Kristi. You could also shorten it to Anna or Annie (though the latter sounds less natural).

Sometimes you don't plan for nicknames... they just happen. My sister's name has been through numerous distortions (some arising from our baby brother's mispronunciation of her name) and is now often affectionately called "Dode" -- her real name is Melody.

Edit: Alessandra will most naturally be shortened by her friends to Al, Allie, or Sandra. You could also call her Alex, Sandi, Andra, or even Andi.

Very nice twin names, by the way!

You'll probably end up with Kristy. Most people will end up taking off the "iana" part.

Why not call her Christina or Kirsten (both spelt correctly)? I love those.
