Not too young.
They just need to understand that you can't go overboard on it.
Nothing to heavy.Just light and simple.
Hope I helped!

When I was in the 6th grade, my mom bought me clear mascara and bonne-bell lip smackers. The clear mascara has not color but just gives your lashes a little bit of lenght. The bonne-bell can give your lips just a touch of color and not look like full out lipstick.
I think that girls are growing up way too fast now-a-days and wearing make-up in the 6th grade is a bit young.
I know that some schools don't even allow girls to wear make-up at all in the 6th grade.
Good Luck

My mom didn't have an age limit on makeup and I turned out fine. However, if your 11 yo wears too much makeup or wears it at inappropriate times or places, you may have to lay down the law.

Not too much makeup. Small amounts are okay, but i think she's too young to be wearing it all the time. Perhaps just on special occasions or when she's going out with friends. At that age they have such natural beauty, that they don't need it.

I think you should give your daughter some "school appropriate" makeup for Christmas. Get her a cool makeup case (maybe get some iron-on letters and spell her name on it, too) and fill it with chapsticks that smell like anything and everything, some shiny, clear lipgloss, some bronzer, some clear mascara (she'll love that), and an eyelash curler. Let her experiment with the "safe" makeup until she is about thirteen.

I don't think so. I'm 12 and I wear makeup. Whoever said makeup isn't allowed in school doesn't know anything. A first grader could wear makeup to school and nothing would happen. I just wear lip gloss, mascara, and eyeshadow. Sometimes I wear just a bit of eyeliner (very very rarely) Maybe start with that.

you may want to check with the school and see if they have any restrictions on make up. the school i attended didn't allow makeup at all. if they are fine with it and you are okay with it, then there shouldn't be an issue.

Lip gloss is fine, but many schools will make her wash it off in middle school. Not until high school should be the rule--11 yrs old is too young to be wearing it at any time. Do you know how many carcinogens (cancer causing agents) are in makeup products? There's also lead in makeup. The combinations of these things in someone so young can be devastating. Think about her future.
