My son is almost 3 and has been in his toddler bed since he was about 18 months cause he started to climb out of it then. For several nights now, he has not been staying in bed or in his room after bed time. He hasn't taken naps for over a year, he out grew them early. We have a strict bed time routine that has been close to the same since birth and he is busy playing, reading books and whatever else all day. I don't see how he can't be tired. I have tried waking him up early. His dad and I get up around 5am everyday. I don't like staying up this late trying to get him to bed. If anyone has any other suggestions, please, please, please, let me know. I am so tired of doing this every night. He is about to get a new bed next month cause his toddler bed use to be a crib and we are having a baby in March. I want him use to sleeping in the new bed before then. I hope that works. Any other ideas would be helpful. TIA

Ok so i know its kind of a stretch and i know for sure im going to get alot of negative reactions, but What do you think about the name Elijah Corellian Wold?

Since Wold is such a short last name, i figured a longer middle name was in order, but nothing common.

Thanks!

I am not a parent yet, but I am against boys playing with dolls ... period. Dolls are associated with feminine things and I just don't think boys should be combing hair and burping the baby like a little girl. However, I think a boy should be allowed to play with a stuffed animal as a baby and a toddler. But after 1 or 2 years old I think the stuffed animal should be stored away.

We were at a restaurant and this little boy (who appeared to be 5 or 6 at the most) had lost his teddy bear. His father drove him back to the restaurant to find this bear (we overhead the conversation). The waitresses searched high and low. The little boy was in tears. They finally found it and it was a sigh of relief for him.

Is it me or is he too old to be playing with stuffed animals? Before any of you parents get upset with me, I don't mean any harm. I am just stating my opinion.

Do you truly think it is okay to be mad at your unborn child because they are not the gender you wanted? Is it okay to favor your children because of their sex... Is it okay to favor your children period? I wanted a boy so bad when I first found I was pregnant, I had myself convinced she was a boy... I even bet my mom and the sonographer a million dollars that she had to be a boy... She was a girl and for a split second I was disapointed but not because she was a girl because I had already bought boy clothes... Be happy that god blessed you with the miracle of carrying kids they are wonderful boy or girl...

I need some advice from any experienced breastfeeding moms out there. I've found that my daughter is particularly fussy when breasfeeding in the afternoons/evenings the last week and I need help!
I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 4 month old daughter, born 6 weeks premature so I was pumping and bottle feeding for the first 4 1/2 weeks. We're breastfeeding normally now, about every 2 - 3 hours during the day, every 3 - 4 hours at night. She feeds for 25-30 minutes each time and is having lots of soaking wet diapers.
What worries me is that the past week she's been particularly fussy at her evening feedings and I'm not sure what could be wrong. She squirms and pulls away at the nipple like there's none there & cries. When I try to express a bit manually, there's lots there. I know she's not getting a full feeding in the evening because of this. I'm concerned about my supply diminishing because of these poorer evening feedings so I'm starting to pump again.
Suggestions?

I am looking at all of these and wanted to know if anyone has done this and what they recommend. I don't know if i want the one with the changing table part on top or what. I live in a tiny apartment so I won't have room for a crib just yet. Are all of these a 15 pound weight limit? How long will a baby stay under 15 pounds?

I am currently pregnant and was seriously interested in using a cloth diaper service. I know they give you a special deoderized pail, but everytime my child has a bowel movement do I have to dump it out in the toilet, and then toss the soiled diaper in the pail?? If anyone has used this kind of service give me your advice on how you liked/disliked it, and if anyone has used this service while living in a gated apartment building, how did they come in to retrieve the soiled diapers if you were not home to buzz them in??

My cousin, who feels more like a sister, is having a baby around the begininng of March. We found out today it's a girl, and I get to name her.

It isn't absolute yet, but at the moment I was thinking of Mallory Celeste.

What do you think?

I first felt my baby at 17 weeks. It was every 2 to 3 days. Then it was everyday for about 5 days. In the last couple of days I've felt her only once or twice. Today I haven't felt her at all. Is this normal for 20 weeks 4 days pregnant? When do you really start to feel lots of movements and kicks everyday and how often would you feel it?
