we came to know yesterday that my wife is pregnant. Tomorrow is our anniversary and with holiday season, what do you think will be a good gift idea for me to give her. Btw, I'm still in happy shock that i don't think the feeling has sunk in yet. But i'm starting to get more and more ecstatic.

Rose Elizabeth

I love Rose as a first name and Elizabeth has always been a favorite of mine, but is it too drab?

Please do not tell me this is old, as your name likely then is also two-hundred or more years old as well.

What's your best idea for Mabel or a variant?

I'm wanting to know if anyone has ever resulted to daycare part time just to have a break and your child being able to socialize? I have no friends or family around and I've hardly been away from my son, he's 15mo now. I was thinking of putting him in care 2 days a week part time in a home setting so I can have the time away (and take on more work) plus he would be able to socialize. I am a SAHM but I do work in the evenings, I feel it will benefit him so much and feel it would make me a better mom, as everyday that goes by I feel bad because there is nobody but me, anyone done this? And how did you feel about it? How do you feel now?

what are your opinions on harvesting embryos and then killing them for stem cell research. although im pro choice for personal reasons i think it wrong- why create life when you know you're going to kill it ahead of time?

Especially mums!!! What weight did you guess your babies to be before they were born, and were you right???

I guessed my little one to be 7lb6oz, and she was 7lb4.5oz, so I was just 1.5oz out!

I am ttc, but still curious about this subject. I have friends who have opted to have a scheduled c-section because they say it's less stress on the baby. But the recovery I hear is awful and a lot longer than a vaginal delivery. I just don't know how I would feel about having a c-section unless it was an emergency to get the baby out.
Just curious on what your thoughts are on one vs. the other.

Also, do perineum messages really help as far as less tearing during delivery?

I was Christmas shoping at a store, and saw two women arguing, one lady had a temper tantrum child on her side, and the other one, probably a stranger was giving order to the mother, she had her purse out and was paying cashier, I assumed that's why she couldn't hold her child. Do you think the other woman was nosy? what would you be offended if some women wanted to give you mother advice?

I dont know what to do. My 10 year old step daughter is very destructive and has been trying to physically hurt my 6 month old son. Please do not tell me that I need to include her, and treat her like my own, because I do,thats not the issue here.Shes 10, Ive know her since she was 7.I had a talk with my husband about her behavior.Well, the last time I caught her pushing and yanking on my 6 month old sons head. And of course her parents never punished her for it. I have told her numerous of times, DO NOT pick him up out of his crib and walk around with him.Its not just her,its any kid. They get distracted and dont pay attention to what they are doing, not to mention the stairs in the house. But I cant tell you how many times she has went in there, woke him up and picked him up.I cant sit beside my sons crib 24 hours a day to make sure she doesnt do anything.I have caught her pushing on his soft spot also.I talked to my husband about it,he has finally been starting to get CONTINUED>>>>

when she was 9 months old. One of the holes did not look right from the beginning and it bothered me for weeks. Eventually, that hole became infected and I removed the earring at which time I realized that in fact the hole was misaligned and entered correctly from front-to-back but angled downard. Basically you could see the edge of the earring back from the front. I had hoped that by removing it the botched hole would close up but I don't think it will at this point. She had it in there about 2 months. The doctor is wonderful with the exception of the botched piercing (in all honesty it did take 2 people to hold my daughter down and even then she wouldn't stop moving her head) and told us it would eventually be fine but never close. I don't believe that it will ever be fine and have considered repiercing it myself with a needle since obviously guns are not error proof. Can it ever be fixed? Will it ever close?

I think Ive asked a similar question before, but Iam amazed over and over again.

I have a 10 month old son, and for fun and social skills we go and play once in a while at the little mall play area. And atleast every other time or so he gets attacked by toddlers. And every time it happens I go rescue him, and look towards the mothers for help or action or SOMETHING. yeah right, they look at me like I am Satans spawn because my infant DARED to be in the same SPACE as their precious Parker or Makala.

Today he was just crawling around in front of me (obviously I am RIGHT THERE to make sure he doesnt get in anyone's way) and stood up to see a little sit-on toy. This little 20 month old (or so) was sitting near it with her mother. That little brat came FLYING over, shoved him away and started screaming "MINE MINE MINE NOOOOOO!" and the mother just laughed, like "oh how cute she is!".

No big deal, we went to the OTHER side of the play area. He went to go see another climb on toy.
