for my first baby, i done a competition on guessing the weight, everyone had to pay a pound to enter, they could only choose a weight that hadn't been chosen, and whoever got the correct weight, won all the money in the kitty. I thought my second baby would be about 9lb but when he was born i don't think anyone would have got the correct weight as he came in over 12lb.

With my daughter, our third, the doctor guessed around 7 lbs. The ultrasound tech - taken about 2 weeks before she was born guessed around 8 lbs. I honestly didn't know. I thought maybe 7 1/2 to 8. Well, she was 9 lbs 12 oz. I had no clue. When she was born, the doctor said, that's a 10 lb baby right there. I told him to shut up b/c I thought he was kidding. He wasn't! Surprised me!

My doctor told me my son would weigh under 6 pounds. Oh how wrong he was! My son was 7 lbs. 14.5 oz.! What happened to my under 6 pounder? I guessed he would weigh about 7, so I was closer than the doctor.
He was in the NICU with all the preemie babies, so he looked so big next to all the tiny babies. We definitely got some strange looks untill I explained that he has spina bifida, he wasn't a preemie.

We did this with my 3 boys.
We made it a bit more fun, by doing a sweepstake with other members of the family.
£1 a guess and the woinner will be the one closest to the weight.

hi i cant remember with my first 3 if we were right about the weight,it was a long time ago,
1st=7lb3oz labour 5hrs 50mins (1987)
2nd=5lb12oz labour 14hrs 15mins (1989)
3rd=5lb9oz labour 31&half hrs (1991)
4th=6lb3,1/2oz labour 85 mins(2006)
i guessed my 4ths weight to be 6lb3 so i won a fiver being half an ounze off.

I was guessing a little over 7# and she was 7#6oz. The u/s was guessing 8#8oz and it was waaaaaaaay off, I found it hard to believe.
They say mother's guesses are usually closer then docs or u/s.

I estimated that my "little" guy was 9lbs 6oz.
My Dr. estimated him at 7 1/2 or 8 lbs.
He weighed in at a great big 10lbs 3oz, so we were both off, haha.
