when she was 9 months old. One of the holes did not look right from the beginning and it bothered me for weeks. Eventually, that hole became infected and I removed the earring at which time I realized that in fact the hole was misaligned and entered correctly from front-to-back but angled downard. Basically you could see the edge of the earring back from the front. I had hoped that by removing it the botched hole would close up but I don't think it will at this point. She had it in there about 2 months. The doctor is wonderful with the exception of the botched piercing (in all honesty it did take 2 people to hold my daughter down and even then she wouldn't stop moving her head) and told us it would eventually be fine but never close. I don't believe that it will ever be fine and have considered repiercing it myself with a needle since obviously guns are not error proof. Can it ever be fixed? Will it ever close?

It will close eventually if you leave it be. Why was it so important to have it done in the 1st place? If 2 people had to hold her down, that would tell me I might want to wait. I would never recommend that you repierce it yourself. Just wait until she's old enough to understand and is able to hold still.

I think that it will probably close up if you leave it alone for an extened ammount of time. Two months isn't necessarily long enough for a piereced earring hole to become permanent, and if it has been infected all the time it had an earring in it, then it has not healed in the way that piercings are supposed to, thus making it more likely to close up.

It could close up real fast, but it may take a year... just give it long enough, then get it re-pierced by a professional when your daughter is old enough so that she doesn't need to be held down. If you keep meddling with it, she might have a botched hole forever, and have an inability to wear certain styles of earrings in that ear, which is rather unfortunate for a young lady.

well i certainly wouldn't try to fix it yourself. but if it's not closing up it probably wont. my husband had his ear pierced for a short time as a kid and even though there hasnt been an earring in it for probably close to 15 years its still open. once it heals it usually never closes.

i wouldnt worry about it being angled down. i have 2 piercings in each ear and one of my second holes isnt even with the other side its really close to the edge of my ear. but honestly no one ever notices and it doesnt affect me or bother me. And he ears and everything will change shape as she grows and by the time she's an adult you might not even notice its angled. its just her ears are so tiny now.

Yes it will. They had to pierce my daughters right ear twice b/c the 1st time it didn't look right. It took it about 3 to 4 days to close. And when I was younger I actually ripped my earring hole completely through and it grew back. So I say no worries it will close and DON'T repierce it yourself just wait

It more than likely won't close because it has been in for quite sometime. I won't not try to pierce it yourself with a needle I think that would be to slow and painful for your daughter. I would wait a little while before doing anything with it, maybe repiercing it when she is a little older might be better

i will permit my daughter choose for while to get her ears completed by way of fact I hated my ears pierced. i replaced right into a nanny to twin infants and that they have got been given it completed at 6 months. they're 2 now and seem so lovable with them. i did no longer study the comments yet I see which you're saying it replaced right into a convention and you're portuguese. My son is slightly Portuguese, does this advise my destiny daughters grandparents anticipate her to get her ears completed this early?

Leave it alone- it will grow back eventually and let her tell you when she wants her ears done...when she's older and doesn't need to be restrained...then take her down to the mall and have it done with a gun by someone who knows what they are doing. Don't do it yourself!

Piercing your ears is a personal choice. I would never make that choice for my daughter. If she wants them pierced she will ask, but until then... They stay the way they came in this world.
You should just leave them alone. Take them both out and let them be on their own. Don't try to inflict pain on your child any more than you already have!
