this is very Vauge all babies are different... watch their reactions. When starting a new texture they may gag alittle. but if the look like they are having too much difficulty stop & wait another week or so.
Cereal around - 3-4 months
baby #1 foods - 5-6 months
baby #2 foods - 6-7 months 9once you know they are not allergic to anything)
Snacks (puffed rice for babies) 7-8 months
Baby # 3 foods - 7-9 months
cereal bars, real foods (start small!) - 9-12 months

Around 6 months the doctors of today typically recommend to "introduce" solids. Each baby is different and you should be guided by their individual wants and needs. My son wanted to eat at about 5 1/2 months and my daughter, currently almost 8 months, has little interest in foods at all.

my daughter was ready pretty early. i started her at 4 months on rice cereal with a little bit of formula and then slowly started introducing new foods to her at about 5 months. try one type of food at a time, ex: carrots, try carrots for 3 days in a row to see if there is any allergic reaction (rash or something). just an fyi, with the carrots, at least for my daughter, her movements came out yellow/orange colored, gross but funny at the same time. good luck! oh and make sure to have a camera on hand bc they make some really cute and funny faces when trying new stuff!

my pediatrician (& all my reliable research) recommends not to start until 4 months (but wait until 5 is best).
Your baby needs to support their head & should be able to sit up w/ assistance. These are indicators that they're developed enough.
Start w/ a tablespoon or less of rice cereal w/ formula or breast milk to make it look like runny cream of wheat...slowly thicken as they learn to adapt to it.
feed in am to begin. Add a night feed.
After they handle that, go to phase 1 foods ..... same thing 1 tbl 1 time a day...
I do cereal in am & food at dinner...
This goes along w/ their normal bottle intake.

When baby reaches out for food and puts it in their mouth themselves. That's usually over 6 months of age.

Around six months. Rice cereals are usually first because they are the least likely to cause an allergic response.

Around 6 months, or when the baby shows signs of being ready for solids.

the aap doesnt reccomend it until at least 6 months. food before one year is jsut practice and if started too early can damage the digestive tract. jsut because one person survived doesnt make it a bright idea to do
