hi am Jasper. doing my UG . my family is a very good and decent family living in a village.we are a midle level family living in tradition way.my problem is about my MOM.she is around 50 yrs old and working as a teacher in a govt school. she is average tall and not fat and having no medical problems.I get depressed and feel bad and irritated to see her wearing saree exposing her navel. In house she will not hide her navel and oftenly while going to school and marriage functions she exposes it badly.Mostly i feel to die when peoples eye points her navel this happens when i go with her out. (I think she notices it)another thing is my friends visit my house often because my college is near my house. at that tiime i see some friends staring at her and passing comments(i have heard it).I dont know why she is doing like this. she watches film and sure she knows whats going on film(Navel shows of heroines)..but even she doesnt take any steps tp hide. Can any one help me how can i let to know

I don't trust him. He was a drug user and was selling drugs out of his current place of residence.
He now says he is clean and the his place is clean. His girlfriend was a crack whore too and I don't trust them at all.
I have full custody and decide when, where and how long these visits happen. He said that his girlfriend will not be there and that his house is not known for selling drugs anymore but I don't feel safe knowing that what if there was one person who didn't know that he sold drugs and shows up all messed up around my kids.
I Don't want them to go, but their going to be so upset that I denied their fathers request to visit. They miss him so much. How do I tell him without it becoming a big fight.

I like unique names that come from old books but sound like they could still work today. (Some of them remind me a lot of really popular names -- for example, the popular name Aidan comes from the same Old English book that my first three boys' names do -- but these ones are not as overused.) Here are some of my favorites. Please tell me what you think:

Boys:
Caedmon -- the first English poet
Caelin (CAL-in) -- Anglo-Saxon name
Alban -- Anglo-Saxon name
Hadrian -- Roman emperor; built a wall in England
Ashley -- from Gone With the Wind
Lysander -- from Shakespeare
Troilus -- from Shakespeare and Chaucer
Gareth -- knight in Arthurian legends
Gawain (GOW-in) --knight in Middle English poem

Girls:
Una -- heroine in Spenser's Faerie Queen (means "one truth")
Moira -- Wendy's middle name in Peter Pan
Bonnie -- Scottish word for "pretty"
Isolde -- lady in Arthurian legends
Lily -- from famous poem by Goethe
Lucy -- used in many Wordsworth poems
Ophelia -- heroine from Hamlet

i love the name Skylar for a girl, and i was wondering, if it would be okay to use?

a nickname would be Sky/Skye (do you think that looks better with an e at the end? i dont really).

please tell me what you think of Skylar for a girl, of that nickname, any middle names, and/or other names that you like for a girl. thanks.

When answering the question re "will a six week old remember"As someone who has just gotten through post natal depression, i found myself feeling quite upset with some of the responses. Irealise that my circumstances were different from those of the poster but at certain times when at my lowest, i ashamed to say that i shouted at my child when she cried. I didnt know what she wanted and as i wasnt myself, i took my frustration out in tht way. I did always feel guilty after thid which made my depression worse, but thankfully i am now over it and my daughter and i are so happy. But when reading the responses, and someone saying that it is abuse to shout, i would just like to say that all circumstances are different. i would neverabuse my child, the idea turns my stomach, i got help. just spare a thought for those who are going through PND. Also, dads can go through it too.

My daughter is so sassy at times I would like to UGGG!!!
We attend church regularly and I expect her to go,yet she still has a mouth on her!! We taught her to be respectful of her parents but NO, she argues everything with me. It seems as if she is angry at me for breathing!! Her grades are slipping and I have put her in extra classes to help her but she would rather sit on the couch eating or watching t.v. than helping out around the house. I am at wits end with her. HELP!!!

My son has swollen lymph nodes. They've been swollen for a couple of weeks. They aren't painful and he's had no other signs of sickness. I was concerned about his almond sized, hard lymph nodes and called the doctor. They didn't seem all that concerned and told me to watch him for a few days. There was no change so we took him into the doc and he did a rapid strep and it was negative and told me to just watch for signs of tenderness or sickness. I got a call this morning from his doctor who comfirmed he has strep! How is this possible? I had strep as a kid and it was horrible. I could barely swallow and had a fever. Anyone experienced this?

By the time my first baby got to 3rd foods, she didn't want to eat them. she wanted tiny bits of my food. My now 8 month old son hasn't even had a taste of cheerios. I'm not really in a hurry. But he is now grabbing at my daughters snacks. The baby books I've read say when she show interest in your food is when they're ready.
Thoughts?

I'm really excited about it but I'm really upset. It means I have to leave all my friends here on London and move to a different country where I don't know anybody. I told my friends and they said they would come over everytime they were off school. I don't know what to expect...we're going to be moving to Manhatten and I'll be going to a school near there...don't know which one!! What should I expect from life in New York...??

My son is 18 months old. And before any of you tell me that it is too soon to teach him how to read let me just say that he already knows and recognizes all of his ABC's, numbers 1-10, and all of his colors. He already has a vocabulary of over 100 words, probably near 150. That being said I'm pretty sure that he is somewhat advanced for his age. All I need is some pointers because want to start teaching him small words (cat, dog, etc...) but I really have no idea of how to go about it. Is there anything that you parents did that helped your child learn how to read? I know he might not catch on right away, but I can go ahead and start trying. We do school everyday anyway. Thanks in advance and serious answers only please.

With my daughter, I didn't count hi, mama, or dada. I counted Duck and Hot that followed within 5 minutes because tehy are actually words.
With my son, I didn't count mama, dada or ow. Yesterday he said Bye. He meant it too. But I didn't cound Hi with my daughter. What do you think? Is BYE his first word? A big piece of me is waiting for a real word. Thoughts?

My wife and I are attempting to potty train our 2 1/2 year old girl. So far, not a lot of success, but we haven't been at it very long. We've decided we need to quit "winging it" and find some kid of program to follow. Can anyone suggest a book or other type of potty training program that could give us some guidence?

my baby's head had slightly elongated due to pressure when i was pushing- she was born 2 wks early. she's a month old now n her head has mostly gone back to it's normal shape. i'm aware that most babies are born like that n all it takes is laying them flat on their backs which will slowly fix their head shapes. when my mother in law was here, she would press my baby's head in order to bring it back to its normal shape. i wasn't comfortable w/it but she convinced my hubby that she knows wat she's doin coz she raised 4 sons n did the same to them. my baby would scream @ the top of her lungs when she pressed her head in her hands. now she's talkin about pickin up my baby by her head only when she turns 3 months so that her neck can become longer. is this just dangerous or what? i hate having my baby being treated like a little lab rat n its really pissin me off that my in laws take so much control over things i'm not comfy with. isn't it dangerous doing that to a baby? what should i say
