Well... amosunknown is a little blunt but I tend to agree that maybe the crowds and stress aren't the place for kids.
I tried the sales once (not again) and if I'd had a kid in tow, it would have been just that - towing. Poor kid would have been getting pulled through the crush of adults' bums.
On the other hand, if you've got a teen that is old enough to be excited about the shopping and will stick with you then take 'em along.

get a baby sitter....it's too dangerous with all the adults out there punching people out for the last "special bargain"...that and with the stores being super busy and you being distracted by trying to look for stuff...too much stuff can happen.
Get a babysitter....or a family member to watch the kids for a few hours. Either that or do your shopping on-line. A lot of stores are having even better specials with free shipping.

Kids aren't can't go out on Black Friday. They have to stay home with Dad or the grandparents, because Black Friday is a giant meeting for moms to talk to Santa and decide what he'll bring. Kids aren't allowed because there is only coffee served at the meeting, and kids aren't allowed to drink coffee. Didn't you know that? At least that's what I told my three - year - old when he asked to go =)

My mom had each of us hold on to one of the belt loops on her jeans. We were too big for leashes too. There were three of us, about 1 to 1 1/2 years apart. Over the years, she lost a few belt loops, but never any of her children.

well for one if you were going shopping wouldn't you already be there? I don't know where you live but here its 11:00 am, and it says you posted this 20 mins ago.
On black Friday you normally get to the stores at 6:00 am if not earlier.
That being said, if you were smart you would try to find someone to take the kids, trust me i used to go at the age of 14 with my mom, & aunts, and i was tired by this time. and we werent even close to being done yet.
Trust me kids in packed stores, your just looking for trouble. Leave them with someone if you can!!!

UMMMMMMM leave them home with the grandparents or a sitter. Most people shopping today are buying xmas gifts. Why take them if any of the stuff you are buying is for them??? Today is a murder shopping day and I look at the people who are dragging their kids behind them, getting snippy with them and then loosing them with pity. I leave mine home with daddy and Im back before he has to go to work.

How about NOT taking your children shopping on Black Friday. That is not an atmosphere appropriate for children.

Dont have any small children..they are grown.. Well shame you dont have a baby sitter..that would be one solution. Another one is to put em in the cart..Another one would be to tell em you better stick by me or I wear your butts out..LOL

Hire a sitter. It will probably cost less than the money you save.

You couldnt PAY me to take kids with me on black friday.. are you a glutton for punishment, or do you just plan on wasting your time and missing the sales?
This is where I would call the grandparents.
