i love the name Skylar for a girl, and i was wondering, if it would be okay to use?

a nickname would be Sky/Skye (do you think that looks better with an e at the end? i dont really).

please tell me what you think of Skylar for a girl, of that nickname, any middle names, and/or other names that you like for a girl. thanks.

Skylar is not a very good name for a girl. Please do not put this burden on your future child, sounds like a dog name. Imagine growing up and being a 70 year old in a retirement home and having the name Skylar. Awkward.

Skylar is a great name for a girl! I love Skye as a nickname, it looks more complete then just Sky. How about Skylar Rose or Skylar Nicole?

Short of actually using Schuyler to honor Dutch heritage (which I can appreciate), I find "Skylar" -- for either gender -- completely trendy, boring and overused, to be honest.

Rather than seeming a classic or meaningful choice, it tends to come across as simply an elaboration of the more insubstantial, trendy nature type names ... in this case the word "Sky," which is the obvious shortening favored by 99.9% of parents using this popular name.

So in my mind, Skylar is more akin to Amberleigh, Brookelynne or Jadenn type creations/misspellings, rather than a classic, well-thought-out choice related to the family's heritage (Adelheid, Gisela or Saskia, for instance). Just not my style at all.

I think Skylar is uncommon but cute
For a nickname I would call her Skye but with the "e" because it makes it a different word from sky.

I also like it as a middle name
My niece is Isabelle Skye

Short answer: Pathetic.
Longer answer: Schuyler is an old Dutch New York name pronounced Skyler. Skyler is a respelling, Skylar is a misspelling, Sky is a joke, none of it is appropriate for a girt.
