my baby was due in January, and as both my brothers and myself were all 4-5 weeks early my mum bought my baby a xmas pressie just in case!
she didn't come until the end of Jan tho - bang on her due date so had to wait a year for her pressie, which was a bouncing tigger! lol
i bought her the fisher price little people house for her first xmas pressie (as she was then 11 months old) and she carried that table wherever she crawled for the first month or so! lol

Depends on how rich you are feeling ! My daughter was given a gold bracelet with two rings, so that it could grow with her. She has a small wrist and can still wear it now even though she is 14. She loves the fact that she wore it when she was a baby. I have created a memory box for each of my children it contains their favourite toy and a few other mementos from when they were tiny.

My parents are getting my 10 month old a well made hand crafted rocking horse that he can hand down to his kids and then to their kids.

I bought him a lifetime crib when he was born, knowing that he could use it until he got married, and then use it for his babies. I dont think we'll get him anything for heirloom this christmas.

to be quite honest i dont recall what I got for either of mine just that they had more fun with the box than the toy. look for age appropriate toys i do remember doing that lol. stuff that makes noise is always a plus for the baby that is.

Write her a poem and have it framed or give her a babys 1st christmas book where you can record all those special memories e.t.c

Write her a letter from mommy telling her how much you care for her, and then write a new one every year. Has a lot of sentimental value, she can keep it forever!
