Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 July 2007

My son, Austin, was born on April 1, 2007. I have a 17yr babysitter who is FANTASTIC with him. She had a lot of experience with babysitting all ages and teaching pre-school kids so I gave her a shot and a tiny little bit of guidance and she's wonderful with the baby!! A lot of people though look at me and go, "You left your BABY with a TEENAGER while you went out?!" She had experience, no records of anything, CPR, First Aid, references etc.

So here's my question (and be honest) if you were looking for a sitter for you kids and you had a "perfect" teen with a lot of experience with kids and a "perfect" 22yr with some experience with kids, who would feel more comfortable with babysitting your kids in your home?

My boyfriends parent were never married, and split when he was very young, after alot of fighting. My parents were never married, either. I have my father's last name, and he has his mother's. My baby is due at the end of October, should I give it my last name or his? He isn't sure he ever wants to get married. Its not that we are splitting up, he just doesn't see the point.

Is this annoying to anyone else? Are some people that obsessed with having a baby that every little thing means pregnancy? Wow i was also reading on a website i go on that a lady even tore apart her digital pregnancy test just to be sure! Wow that is insane! Anyway baby dust to all!

I'm 39 and have been ttc for about 2 years. After 4 failed IUI cylces with Clomid, we tried IVF. It failed, which was surprising given how well everything was going. I went to ER last Wed. morning for a UTI, on the verge of a kidney infection. They did a standard pregnancy bloodtest and my HCG came back at 11. Had a 2nd beta done 2 days later and HCG was 74, progesterone 26.9. This is all still very surreal to me. Had a beta and prog. bloodwork drawn today but haven't gotten the results and wont' until tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced this? How could this happen? Well, I know how it happened but you know what I mean. I'm worried the numbers will come back lower tomorrow. I just can't believe it.

is it possible if i ask my midwife if they can put me into labor sooner than expected can they do it?
its not that am that inpatient its i feel he is gettin a bit heavy for me 2 carry around now if i were 2 guess i would say his weight is about 6-8pounds but thats only guessing am not sure but am 37weeks pregnant and i also have a problem with my pelvis so yea do u think they could put me into labor sooner or will they not do it i dont want 2 have a ceseran unless nessary
other reason being on why i want him out other than being fed up just recently my epilepsy has being playing more with me having seizures and i feel it could cause more complications

With my last baby I tried a few different pumps and nothing worked on me or was comfortable. I will not be pumping on a regular basis, so I dont need anything massively expensive and heavy duty. I do need it to be comfortable though! What is the most 'natural' feeling pump you know of? Whats good for the price? I do seem to have better luck with electric then manual but dont want to spend a fortune on what I wont use all the time.

I know it sounds weird but last week I thought labour would be anyday as I was having the pressure pains down below and feeling really uncomfortable. But the last couple of days that pressure pain has gone and it just doesnt feel like I am heavily pregnant.

I do feel baby move but not too often, she has become extremely quiet. The heartbeat is there - it is usually around 150 but is now around 120. Is it normal to drop?

This is my 4th baby, anyone else feel the same or am I worried for no reason?

I really like this name, but I'm not sure how to spell it. It sounds like "Kay - Lynn". But "Kaylynn" looks like too many y's to me. Kaylen looks like a boys' name to me. Kaylin looks kinda funny...any other spelling ideas?

I am 23 years old and i have a stong oppinion on teenagers and sex. I 100% believe we need a actual sex education program in our schools. not these so call abstinence-only program that has no real proof of doing anything good. Kids are having sex at 11 and 12 years old now, and some even younger. Parents are so naieve these days. they want to say if you dont talk about it, then our kids wont do it. but all that is a bunch of bs. they r doing it anyway. we definitly need to talk about it. parents to your childeren and also teachers to their students. some kids can not be open enough with their parents and ask certain things, but if put in a setting like a class room, where those kind of questions are normal and knowing that they wont get in trouble, we might just have lower teenage pregnancy rates and stds. so my ???, do you agree or disagree with sex ed in school. also how old where you when you first had sex? I'll go first, i was 16. i really wants some true feedback with this!

You all keep calling people stupid for saying "duh 4 weeks in a month"....But if that were true you'd be saying that every month only has 28 days (7x4=28)..Which is completely untrue...

Therefore 9 months would be 4x9=36 and there are not just 36 weeks in a pregnancy..Please correct me if I am wrong..

But everyone stop being so arrogant to the people just asking a freaking question!

Mom was on a trip, I did wrong stuf, bad friends made up my mind. When she came back I got punished but she wasn't harsh. I was grounded but she treated me w/ love and allowed some fun. Since during the time I messed up I didn't wear a bra, mom got me some bras made of thick material that covered a lot of my breasts, give much support and clip w/ 4 hooks,just to compensate for the time I was braless. I didn't like them but didn't complain. My punishment is over, no more restriction, I'm completely forgiven,my relationship w/ mom is great, But she decided to keep me wearing those bras. Now I complained a lot, but she said they are good for me and won't back off until I leave home. She was loving but firm and said This is not a punishment but for your own good. I really want bras w/ full coverage, much support , no see through andn 4 hooks, and dont want complaints, ok? Said they are good and decent, just what a good girl like me needs. What do I do? Just obey without complaining?

Am in 28 days cycle. Am using ovulation tracker , and i ovulated by 17th day in last cycle. This month am expecting my ovulation as today 07/30 which is 17th day for this cycle. But still am not ovulated. Is there is any way naturally to induce my ovulation. i read in some site, grape juice will induce ovulation. Anyone have any idea on this or can help me how i can induce my ovulation for this month ?
