If it is your 1st they are really reluctant to induce. They can but usually won't. Most still are concerned about the lungs of the baby at 37 weeks. More so for boy babies than girls.
I am sorry to hear you are uncomfortable. They will not doit for this. I was 42 weeks before they induced me with my girl. My boy I went into labor at 37 wks and they stopped me because his lungs were not mature enough.

Maybe with the epilepsy they may consider it. Although as you pointedout often an inducation can lead to a c-section. Good luck

I think rather then going to a midwife if you have epilepsy you should be seeing a doctor a midwife deals in only delievering babies and she made bad judgement taking you on as a patient when you have such a condition
if she doesnt want to induce you early you should make an appt with an OB/GYN and see what they think should happen

Well, I was told that a "guess-ti-mate" weight of my baby was 7-8 lbs, and she was 10.9 lbs!

You should talk to your doctor, not a midwife, as far as your seizures causing complications. It seems to be a valid concern and if the baby's lungs are developed enough, there shouldn't be a problem with early labor! Good Luck!

6-8 pounds is very average for a baby. Be patient. The baby will come when it is ready. It is a good sign that it is feeling heavy, that means the baby is dropping and getting ready for birth.

As far as the epilepsy, I would definitely talk to you doctor ASAP. That could be very dangerous for you and your baby.

Good luck and congratulations!

Tell your doctor of your medical concerns and ask to be induced. If she agrees, she'll induce you. Congrats and good luck!

talk with your drs. it's possible that they could induce you or give you a c section around 38 weeks.
