All of my friends (including me) buy Hollister, Abercrombie, and American Eagle clothes. I don't want to have the same clothes as everyone else! Are there any other places in the same price ranges as Hollister, A&F, and AE with really cool clothes? (that aren't sleazy, cheap, or really expensive.)
**not including Dillards, Macys, Limited Too, or JC Pennys.... I'm not fond of their clothes**

He is a big baby, weighting 81/2 lbs at birth. She took him to the doctor yesterday for a check-up. He is already almost 17lbs, but has grown 5 inches longer. The doctor say he very well proportioned. The father is 6'3" and a large man. The doctor had her start him on cereal a couple of weeks ago. which I wasn't too surprised about. What did surprise me is that he told her to start giving him fruits and vegetable once a day. I thought 6 months was the normal time to begin this. I wonder if it is because he is so big. Any comments?

When is a good age to put reading to a baby as part of his nighttime routine? We have a 2 1/2 month old and we have a bedtime routine for him - taking a bath, getting rocked & fed. What's a good age to put reading him a book into that routine? Right now when we periodically try he doesn't even really look at the book - he just looks at a lamp or something :) At what age will he actually begin being interested in the book?

Hire a nanny who has minimal professional experience but LOVES kids and is absolutely great with them, or would you require the professional experience?

I am in the Navy, and they have moved me to a desk job which is fine, but I'm bored all the time. One of the vaccums is upstairs just 2 flights, and they don't want me walking up there and carrying it down the stairs, they say that I could loose the baby that way. I think I will be alright, I'm only 15 weeks along, so I don't see anything to be worried about. When I pt with them, they don't even want me doing anything, besides walking. They hate it when I have to walk up and down the stairs to many times a day, and they get paranoid about the tiniest things. Should I be more worried, are they right about all this? Or are they to paranoid?

I'm 9w4d but have yet to tell my friends and family the great news; I'm not sure my mother will be best pleased at first, as it was unplanned although I'm in a secure relationship with the father and we are more than able to look after the lil' one when they arrive.

My plan is to just get on with it and tell them later tonight but I was just wondering how you all went about it and what reaction you were received with.

I asked a nurse at the hospital when I was there if an enema would cause me to go into labor and she said that its very doubtful. I know it has worked for some people, but if it doesn't actually send me into labor..do you think it would help to dilate or ripen my cervix?

He doesn't like to drink anythign except "RICE drink" as it is similar to milk. He does not care for any flavor of Pedilyte or juice or anything. I am worring about him becoming dehydarted. Is it allowed to offer him Soymik? I read the ingredients and there is no diary products. Any suggestions?....

I am planning to breastfeed and was just wondering what others think about expressing milk and feeding from bottles? Do you think you need to or is it possable to just breastfeed.

Im just worried that being the only one feeding will be too much for me, also that my partner wont be involved, but at the same time dont want to bother expressing if i dont have to.

Just wondering what others have done and how you feel about it as id like to make sure i have everything (bottles ect if needed) before the birth.

Thanks

My son is 6 months old and he is in the 97th percentile in all his growth areas. He is just quite frankly a big kid. My question is he is getting to be too long for his carseat to be rear facing, would it be ok to turn his seat around? His legs are getting to be too long and he is having to bend his little legs while in his car seat. He has already out grown his infant carrier (his head was over the top of the back of the seat)

I am going to discuss this with his dr on thursday when he goes for his 6 month check up but I was curious if any other mother's out there have experienced the same thing, if you have how did you handle the problem?

I had unprotected sex on Sunday (Feb. 11) without knowing. It was only for like 5 minutes but I got scared and took Plan B on Monday (Feb. 12) about 24-25 hours after it happened. Then last night (Tues Feb. 13) I saw a tiny drop of blood on my underwear. I know sometimes Plan B causes this and sometimes pushes periods back a week or longer? My expected date for my period is around Feb. 16 which is 2 days from now. I'm just wondering if the spot was a sign of me starting my period or what?! I'm scared, someone help!

I have 2 sisters, and i'm the middle child. My little sister is 10, i'm 14. and my older sister is almost 17. Im really concerned that my older sister is really negatively affecting my 10 year old sister. My older sister is sort of a "bad kid", and last week, she gavew my little sister a condom, and told her to bring itnto school. she didn't know what it was, so she was asking every1 what it was, she got in troble with the teacher who called my mom, and my mom asked her where she got it. She covered 4 my big sis and tld her she found it on the side of the road.

My older sis has also done thimgs like this in the past, once she even offered her vodka. I don't want this to keep happening to my little sis, but when i tell my mom, she won't believe me! what can i do to protect my little sister?

Ok well my cycle has been bad, I have always been irregular from day one, from the time i was 18 to 20 years old I had maybe 4 periods and one of the periods i had was caused by a progesterone challenge by my doctor 10mg for 7 days....I have had everything checked out, had every kind of test done and everything is perfect, I don't even have PCOS i'm 5'2 108lbs if that helps any....Two weeks after my last period I had spotting for two days then it stopped and again a couple days later the brown spotting started up again and it's been going on now for about 4-5 days I'm not due for my period for another 6-7 days if i even get it, I just started taking progesterone cream to see if that helps with my periods I have only been using the cream for 4 days so far..could this be why i'm having this spotting??It's not really uncommon for me since i stopped having periods for no apparent reason i would get brown spotting almost every month. hlp me out please

My son was born with red hair and my husband and I are both blonde. So we are hoping it will change. He has blonde eyebrows and the roots of his hair appear blonde. I have naturally very light blonde hair and it is so weird for me to have a red haired child. My daughter was born with dark brown curly hair and is now blonde. Her hair never fell out, it just changed over time. It seems like a lot of people are born with darker hair and it turns red, but I haven't heard from anyone who had red hair at birth and then it changed. Thanks for any info.
