I had unprotected sex on Sunday (Feb. 11) without knowing. It was only for like 5 minutes but I got scared and took Plan B on Monday (Feb. 12) about 24-25 hours after it happened. Then last night (Tues Feb. 13) I saw a tiny drop of blood on my underwear. I know sometimes Plan B causes this and sometimes pushes periods back a week or longer? My expected date for my period is around Feb. 16 which is 2 days from now. I'm just wondering if the spot was a sign of me starting my period or what?! I'm scared, someone help!

I did take the second pill exactly 12 hours after taking the first one. I wasn't taking ANY chances. There's no way I could have forgotten.. it was on my mind ALL day!

The plan B pills I am aware of involve two doses- is this what you took and did you take them as directed?? The plan B works by making your uterus shed its lining (no lining for the fertilized egg to attach to). You should have had some type of blood flow (either regular or brownish for old blood). You can call your advise nurse and ask, if you are really freaked out, however, I would wait a while and see how your next cycle is. You can also take a pregnancy test, if you suspect the pill has not worked for you in a few weeks.
Lecture time: Never trust a dude to protect himself....always take care of your own self: take the pill, get depo, or an IUD. He won't be there in the end, especially if he is the snaky type that tells you he is protected and isn't.
Enough of that. Hope this turns out the best for you.
Try to relax. Give it some time.

Don't be scared. Plan B is basically just a super duper dose of birth control at once. A lot of women have spotting when they are on birth control, so this is probably just a side effect.

It's important to know though that for Plan B to be fully effective, it should be taken twice. The second pill I believe is taken 12 hours after the first, but I'm not for certain on that.

If it states that this could happen taking plan b, then no need for panicking until you are due for your period. I sometimes spot before my period. You took the pill quickly, so you should be ok, but you know it's not 100%. Wait to see if you get it, if not, take a pregnancy test. It's all you can do for now.

taking a morning after pill disrupts you menstural period for that month (maybe a couple months) most women start their period while taking it! (it's basically like having a miscarriage without the pains) be prepared for emotional changes like the ones you experience during pregnancy! but do not use it on a regular basis it can cause harmful effects. make sure you take each dose. you can take it up to 72 hours after you have unprotected sex.

It may just be spotting from Plan B or it may be a sign of your period. Keep some tampons or pads with you *just in case*.
