yes HEPATITIS C.i know first hand i got it from a licensed tattoo shop that seemed to be clean, real clean might I add one more thing you should think about years down the road you most likely will regret getting it. i was young when i started getting tattoos I'm now 36 a mom of two who regrets every one of mine even the ones that don't show to the public.people had always told me i would regret them and i honestly thought i never would but i should of listened to them.
back to the HEP C i was put on interferon shots i got one every Monday at 8pm for 8 months i had to take a little over 300 pills a month some to go along with the interferon but most of the 3 hundred were for my depression and suicidal thoughts that the interferon brought out in me.the interferon makes you have flu like symptoms and it makes you go crazy in your mind. for 8 months i wanted to die i ended up in the mental hospital because of it. i was sick puking couldn't get out of bed for more then an hour if i was lucky 6 days a week. on Sunday i felt half way OK never normal but come Monday it started all over again because of my shot of interferon.my body hurt so bad 6 days a week from it .
i only had a n 8 % chance of beetling this nasty decease because of the strain i got HEP C 1A TO BE EXACT ITS THE MOST COMMON OF ALL THE HEP C BUT THE HARDEST TO BEAT.WELL I DID MY HEP C is no longer detectable. i was blessed by Jesus some people never get rid of it ...
Please think about this tattoo long and hard. please feel free to email me if you would like.
best of luck my friend

hope this will enlighten you
Maybe you've thought of remembering this special time in your life with a tattoo, or maybe you have concerns about existing tattoos. More than anything you want everything to be safe for you and your baby. This information will be helpful for you as you take care of the tattoos you already have and decide on tattoos that you may wish to get during your pregnancy.
First things first: SAFETY
Make sure that your tattoo artist follows or was following these guidelines:
They are a registered practitioner (if your state registers tattoo artists)
They always wear gloves during the procedure
They have an autoclave (sterilizing unit to sterilize equipment)
The floors and surfaces are all clean
All the needles used are new, disposable and made for single use only
The dressings are sterile packed and unopened
The dyes or ink used for the tattoo are also sterile packed and unopened
The artist is available the first 24 hours if you have any problems
Find out the availability of the artist if you have any problems in the days and months ahead
If you have a tattoo and question the practices of the facility where you had it done, make sure you are tested for Hepatitis, HIV, and Syphilis.
Think it through
The main concern with getting a tattoo during pregnancy is the risk of contracting an infection, such as Hepatitis B and HIV. Although the risk is small, it is recommended that you wait to get a tattoo after your baby is born.
You will be very interested to know that little information is available about the safety of skin dyes used for tattooing during pregnancy. It is possible that the chemicals in the dye may affect the development of the baby during the first 12 weeks, but the risks are unknown, as are any effects on the baby during the remainder of the pregnancy.
Some women may have also heard that if they have a tattoo on their back, then they will be unable to get an epidural. Very few studies have been done on the risks that could exist for women who have back tattoos and receive an epidural. So far none of these studies have conclusively found any data that shows that there are risks, so most anesthesiologists have no problem giving an epidural to a woman with a back tattoo. If you want an epidural and have a tattoo on your back, it still would be best to contact the hospital and find out the policy in regard to tattoos and epidurals.
The risk of contracting an infection is small, but you could pass the infection to your baby if you are breastfeeding. Ultimately it's your decision, but you may want to wait until you are not breastfeeding to get a new tattoo.

Good luck finding an artist that will do it. But yes, there are medical reasons. The ink gets into your bloodstream and flows right down to the baby. This ink is not toxic to adults, but can cause an infant all kinds of health concerns and birth defects. Plus, even early on your skin starts stretching out and won't return to normal until some time after the pregnancy is over. Don't get a tattoo while pregnant, wait until afterwards!

Yes very many!! you could get an infection, you could freak out and make the babys heart rate go down, or you could have a severe reaction to the ink!! Even if you already have a tattoo it will not be the same because you have a ton of hormones surging thruogh your body!!! Just like you are not suppossed to color your hair while pregnat because those hormones do weird things to your body!! Good Luck!!!!

OK HERE IS THE REASON WHY IT IS NOT ADVISED TO GET A TATTOO WHILE PREGNANT I ACTUALLY ASKED A TATTOO ARTIST WHO IS ALSO A TATTOO SHOP OWNER THIS QUESTION OUT OF CURIOSITY THEY SAY THAT WHEN YOU START TO GET A TATTOO OBVIOUSLY THERE IS PAIN BUT AFTER A WHILE YOUR ADRENALINE KICKS IN WHICH COULD CAUSE THE BABY'S HEART RATE TO SKY ROCKET KEEP IN MIND WHILE YOU ARE GETTING A TATTOO YOUR HEART RATE ALONE JUMPS UP BECAUSE OF NOT ONLY THE EXCITEMENT BUT THE RELEASE OF ADRENALINE WHICH IS THE BODY'S NATURAL REACTION. ALSO YOU MUST KEEP IN MIND THAT ALTHOUGH MOST TATTOO SHOPS NOW A DAYS ARE CONSIDERED SAFE THERE IS NO 100% GUARANTEE THAT YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY CATCH SOME KIND OF INFECTION OR EVEN GET SOMETHING OTHER THAN THAT. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND IT IT IS NOT WORTH RISKING YOUR UNBORN BABIES HEALTH. SO HERE IS MY ADVISE WAIT UNTIL YOUR BABY IS BORN AND THEN YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO GO OUT AND GET A TATTOO. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND I HOPE THIS HELPED A BIT

I don't know if there is proof, but they say not to because if you get a blood infection then that is the same blood that is pumping to the baby and it will put your baby in danger. I wouldn't suggest doing it, unless you are very early on pregnancy and didn't know you were pregnant, then that isn't the same.

Don't do it. Most men I know think that a tattoo on women is a turn off. And how do you explain this dumb tattoo to your child as they grow up. It just takes away from your natural beauty. Why do women want to look like man these days anyway ?

Actually because at the start of pregnancy they test you for communicable diseases and if you get one while pregnant you would have already been tested. You can get Hep.C and not know and that can cause LOTS of problems for you and baby. I want one with my kids names but I have to wait. Oh well, 9 months is not too much for the baby to ask for!
