I am 11 weeks pregnant and yesterday I ate about 100 grams of sugared ginger! Could this be dangerous? I have read on the Internet that it is recommended against the nausea while pregnant (but in another form...in tea etc.) but also that it is NOT recommended while pregnant!!!

Can a one year old have an "attitude problem?" My daughter gets in these moods where she pushes you away, slaps at your hands when you try to change her, and she will lay down on the floor and cry. When she hits at me I have pushed her hands away, saying, "no, that hurts mom" but now I'm realizing that maybe that is what gives her the okay to hit and slap at people. She hasn't been doing this for more than a week. Maybe she got it from daycare? And right now, I'm telling her no and she keeps reaching for my coffee mug. Now shes laying on the floor crying. Do I ignore these fits? I cant even go to the bathroom and she's out side the door crying and rolling around on the floor!! Help me. I don't want a spoiled child, but I dont want her to feel neglected by "ignoring" her little fits and tantrums. Oh, and now she trows things. Where did this hostility come from?? Are all little kids like this. And I'm sure it olny gets better, right...

am i crazy to think this is wrong, she is soo into everyone being bf/gf and marriage, I know they show stuff like that with disney charaters and stuff, but anything we watch, or see she's like ohhh there boy friend girlfriend., ohhhh there getting married, when there is no such case. is this normal for her age? even her teacher says she's a little obsessed with who likes who and who likes her. Her birth mom says it's natural and she was like that...but she got pregnate in highschool droped out and slept with the whole town, i dont want that to happen to the little one, so i'm hopeing it is just a phase.

My son has a ticket with a number on it for a reduced lunch. He has lost it so many times, and the teachers and lunch cashier is getting mad. I've talked with both of them and they tell me that my son doesn't remember to take his H.W. home, he leaves his jacket in school and loses his lunch number a lot. He has lost 3 lunch boxes already this year and now I pack his snacks in a brown paper bag. He has lost 2 good jackets, a hat and gloves.

I have and still do a chart with stars for a good memory to bring things home from school! It's not working! I've talked to the guidence counsler and they suggested the same thing I'm doing, the star chart.

Finanlly my boyfriend just told me "boys will be boys! Just pack him a lunch, or pay the full amount for the school lunch"

My son loves the school lunch, it'll be another dollar a day if I pay the regular amount for school lunch. My son doesn't eat the lunches I make for him.

What do you suggest I do?

When my children were small I did a diploma in preprimary education and I know how important it is for that age group to learn and explore freely, without a stupid mom trying to force them to sit still and hold crayons and form letters! (Probably just to impress their friends with the phenomenal IQ of their offspring.) It's so important for them to spend a lot of time just playing, because it's their way of learning.

And as a primary school teacher I've seen the harm done by mothers who push their kids beyond their limits. Isn't the best thing you can do for your kid to let them grow and develop by supplying what they need, but also ACCEPTING what they are without forcing them into a mold?

have been hoping my gf is pregnant for while now and she has had some symptoms over the past couple of weeks - very sore breasts, feeling sick, nausea and being moody etc.

She is now 5 days late and we're scared to do HPT as been disappointed in the past.

Will HPT show 100% now and if it did come back negative does that mean 100% that she is not?

If not then what - i feel like a nervous little kid each day at the moment :-$

Hello has anyone got any bright (and sensible) ideas on how to stop children (2 and 3 years old) who share a room getting up and switching the light on (and hence then waking the other up) Ideally I'm looking for a product that I can either bolt over the existing lightswitch to protect it or a childproof lightswitch which I can swap the old one out for.

You have a 6 year old boy. You tell him "no video games until you take out the garbage, finish your workbook lessons, and feed the dogs". The two jobs mentioned are his only chores at this time. However, lil' smarty pants decides he will ignore your first, second and third calm requests to do the things you request and proceeds to huff and puff and hook up a video game system and prepare to play.

Ok. Now at this point when I was a youngster (yeah back in the day) I would have gotten smacked into the stratosphere if I did not obey after the second chance. But times have changed, and although I am definitely not an AP/gentle discipline type, I'm not a complete drill sergeant either. Although, I probably lean more towards the drill sergeant because I am firm and have little tolerance for back talk and ignoring from a child.

Anyway, what should I do? This has been going on for a few weeks now and I haven't spanked him yet, but I have threatened it, and seen no improvement.

I am so confused about contractions, I mean I know a lot of them are B Hicks, but sometimes I think its real. I have had them last all day long, but never get stronger. I am afraid I am really not gonna know when they are real. I am having some now. I started having them about 3 hours ago REAL PAINFUL, but then I just had to go to the bathroom(bowels), and its not quite as intense now, but still crampy like. Is it just my bowels or what. I dont know what to do.
