have been hoping my gf is pregnant for while now and she has had some symptoms over the past couple of weeks - very sore breasts, feeling sick, nausea and being moody etc.

She is now 5 days late and we're scared to do HPT as been disappointed in the past.

Will HPT show 100% now and if it did come back negative does that mean 100% that she is not?

If not then what - i feel like a nervous little kid each day at the moment :-$

It should be accurate by now, though some people do take a while to get positives on hpts. Mine was positive at 5 days late, and they claim to work at 4 days before you are due, although mine was negative the day before and the day after. But at 5 days late it worked.

If it is negative it isn't 100%. If she did one today and it was negative but still does not start her period I would say take another in about 3 days time. And tell her to use first morning urine as the HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels are slightly higher then and so easier to detect on hpts.

If it is still negative I would suggest going to doctors just to make sure its nothing esle.

Good luck x

I would have her test today...Sounds like she is having pregnancy symptoms...I'm sure a HPT would pick up on it now since she is 5 days late already. If it comes out NEG and she still hasnt gotten her period wait a few days and retest or have her go to the Dr. for a blood test..Good Luck~

HPT's are never 100% accurate but chances are she'll get a fairly accurate result. If you want to know for sure then go to a doctors or clinic and get a blood test.

You should do the home pregnancy test once she's already 10 days late to make sure it's accurate. sometimes the hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) does not rise to a readily detectable level until then.
Also, the symptoms she's feeling are not specific for pregnancy and could be attributed to pre menstrual syndrome.

the best thing to do is to wait until your gf is at least 14 days late before you do the test as they are not 100% accurate. it is nerve wrecking i know we still havent had a possitive test back yet after a year, hang on in there!!

i hope its good news and i hope this helped

This might be the one. This might be the lucky one. You might want to wait at least for a week so you can be more sure of. But it sounds to me like she might be pregnet. and if it does say negative, then go to the doctor and have them check her. there could be other reasons to why she is not coming out pregnet. good luck and hopefully she is pregnet.
