Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 February 2007

I have a friend, who wakes her baby up in the day, so that it sleeps at night. The baby boy is only four months old, but the Mom has been doing this since it was born.

I cannot tell the Mom directly, but if I get some concrete advise on the actual implications, I would be able to politely tell my friend, if she is doing wrong...

My daughter is almost 3 and I'm pregnant with our 2nd child. I read somewhere that everyone of your children should be celebrated and not just the 1st one. The 2nd shower would be more like a party to celebrate your new baby and not so much of a full-blown shower. Any advice?

I myself have had a mc but my sister had one only three weeks ago, however now she thinks she is pregnant. She says she lost all preg symptoms right away and now feels like its starting all over again. More discharge and slight dizzyness. Her boobs are also starting to hurt again. Could it be possible? She hasn't even had a period yet since the mc but it should have arrived on the 10th.

I was reading up on Luteal phase defect Just because I have been TTC for a while now and I'm curious about every thing possible. Ok well it says, It is when your luteal phase is shorter than 12 to 10 days. Ok so what I was wondering is what if your Luteal phase is longer than the 14 days? Is that bad or does that matter. Just curios that's all.

she is 14 weeks pregnant and yes i am standing by her the baby is ill with bowels out side the tummy . the baby is going to be operated on as soon as it is born most likely at 35 weeks if she gets to that stage.she is not eating properly she still smokes and we have only just got her back to school which is only for 2 hours a day. the school is fab bending over backwards to help.my husband would be over the moon if i let him throw her out and we are just so unhappy over al this we always seem to be arguing and im just fed up with beeing in the middle. the father is 18 and is allways in trouble with the police he is still waiting for charges of 2 counts of asault and another for carring a knife . she has been in trouble for similar stuff but has been ok for the last 4 months.they have no money no out look no plans nothing what the hell am i going to do any one got any idea

I was just wondering what kind of care you get in the US and do you have to pay for the care?

I live in the UK and we get a midwife, two scans at 12 and 20 weeks, antenatal checkups every 4 weeks, a consultant if it is a high risk pregnancy and a choice of giving birth in a hospital, birthing centre or at home.
Pain relief choces are birth pool, gas and air, pethedine, epidural.
How does that compare to US?

My daughter is 6 and a half months old, and she isn't rolling over yet. My mom and sister say it's because I didn't give her a lot of tummy time when she was younger. She sits up by herself, she's babbling and is on cue basically for her age besides the rolling over part. When she was younger I put her on the floor but she would always cry so I would pick her up, now she doesn't like to lay on the floor and I pick her up when she starts to cry for to long. A couple months ago it looked like she was trying to roll side to side but now she's not trying at all. I feel like it's my fault for not letting her get used to tummy time. What can I do to make tummy time better for me and her and to help her learn to like it and to roll over?

My son is three days old, and about 15-30 minutes after each feeding (he is breastfed) he has an extremely watery, greenish-yellow bowel movement. He nurses every 2 hours, give or take, and nurses about 10 minutes on each breast during every meal. Is the diarrhea something i should be concerned about?

I am paranoid that I might have gestational diabetes.
I have had thrush all throughout this pregnancy and recently over the last few days I have been feeling very tired. Today I feel very thirsty and I ave just thrown up.
Has anyone here had gestational diabetes and did you have symptons like mine?
I will be calling the midwife at 9 so theres no need to tell me to call a doctor I just wanted some advice from people like me
