Lately I've been having very sharp pains in what I believe is my cervix (it feels like it), is this normal? Is it the baby's head jamming me or could it be my cervix is dilating? Has this happened to anyone else before. I'm 37 weeks and 5 days.

I feel the same way I did when pregnant with my son but with my son I didn't get a positive test from home or Dr. til I was 3 months along. After taking about 6 hpt in a 2 month period and not having a cycle for 3 months, I had even had a blood test done and it still said no when I was. Why is that? I have taken 2 tests at home this time around and both are neg. but I feel it and I am almost 4 weeks late. What is going on with me and why do I always get negatives when I am pregnant? Can anyone help me?

Hi,
A little bit of info. for you guys... My husband and I are going for no. 2 again, and I wanted to know if the E.P.T. test could be accurate 9 days before missed period... I read the box and saw the rates go down with each day before, but it said negative and I feel weird. My boobs hurt all over, and I feel dizzy and lightheaded when I stand up...

What is the treatment for this and how it is diagnosed? X-rays were taken at the clinic; however, her pediatrician didn't see anything that was a cause for a concern; however, as a precautionary measure she referred us to an orthopedic specialist. We see the specialist next week as she isn't walking yet other than with a push toy and walks with her legs outward and an awkward waddle. Her physical therapist feels that it's just lack of tone and endurance on the left side of her body as she's been pulling up and cruising furniture favoring her right side for the past six months. What say you?? Professional and serious answers only PLEASE!!

I took Clomid this time days 3-7. I began checking my ovulation on Day 10 through Day 17. I never detected a surge. However, I am getting mixed feedback on whether or not I ovulated. Also, can my progesterone level drop if I ovulated before Day 10 and was not tested until Day 21?

The baby's dad will not be present at the birth, so I had originally told my best friend that her and my Mom would probably be in there with me. As the date approaches - I'm feeling a little selfish and if ANYONE is in there with me - it will be only my mom. The thing is - my best friend and I are VERY VERY close, I mean, we have been through SO SO much together, and have been best friends for 10 years. I know she won't act angry with me, b/c she's not a mean person, but I think she will be SHOCKED that I don't want her in there. Can someone help me think of the right way to say it to her? A way that is very thoughtful? Thanks so much in advance.

My brother planned his wedding 6 weeks after my due date, which means the baby will be newborn...
According to yahoo maps the trip will be 724 miles.. Southern Cal to Northern Cal.
We would be traveling by car.

My question is this... would it be extremely hard to travel with a 6 week old by car? Any suggestions?

Okay, to get right to the point I hate my job! I am paid pretty decently but I get treated like garbage on a daily basis. I have been on my job for four years. I moved last September further away from where I work so I also have a 25 mile commute to and from work. I have an 18 month old daughter who I miss very dearly every moment that I am away from her. Now, if we tighten our belts a bit, my Husband and I can squeak by on his paycheck provided he works as much overtime as possible. If I do leave my job, I plan on getting another at least part time, and I know that if I do leave my job, I would be a much happier person. I really need some advice from moms or dads who may have found themselves in a similar situation. Thank you.

My step-mother-in-law took it upon herself to give my 6 month old daughter, Jaymie, cereal mixed with Sunny Delight when I had her watch my daughter for about 30 minutes today. I left Jaymie with her and said, "She just ate, and I'll be back in about 30 minutes..." Now it's 12:30 at night and Jaymie has been waking up about every 20 minutes crying. Sunny Delight has ingredients that I cannot even pronounce in it!!! My wedding is tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., and I am SO VERY TEMPTED TO CALL HER AND TELL HER TO COME OVER TO WAKE UP EVERY 20 MINUTES WITH MY DAUGHTER... That way I can get about 5 hours of sleep before my wedding!
I guess my real question is, does anybody know the reprocutions of Sunny Delight with infants? Also, I have given Jaymie some Mylicon (gas/stomich releif for newborn infants) as well as baby Tylenol... Anything else besides wait for Jaymie's stomich ache to go away? Thanks everyone!

My toddler is 3 years old. She went to a family care from 8 months till a few weeks ago.

We put her in a bigger day care early January so she would get used to other kids in a bigger environment. She cried each day in the daycare and would not sleep. After lots of complaints from her preschool, we felt that it was not the right environment for her.

We found a smaller montessori with a much lower student teacher ratio and put her in for a half day programme. It has been one and half weeks in the new montessori. Her caregivers say that she is crying non stop and wants to go home. She is very adamant and won't listen to them nor would participate in any activity.

Today I was told that unless my toddler stops crying within the next week, we will have to withdraw my toddler from the montessori.

When I ask my toddler why she cries in montessori, she says she is afraid.

How do I help her? Is she not ready for pre school yet? What should I do?

My daughter is almost 5 weeks old. Sometimes (especially at night) she seems to choke while she's eating. I can see it coming on because she sucks and doesn't swallow for a few seconds...than she can't seem to swallow, then she can't breath and then she starts panicking, pulling away and then finally crying/screaming. I calm her down and try again...but it seems like once it starts, it continues...while I am calming her down I am leaking milk all over myself, or else I cover up with the breast pads and then we seem to have the same problem once I feel the let-down again. My question is...does anyone else have/had this problem? What can I do? THis will go on for hours it seems. And then finally after hours of crying she'll fall asleep (who knows if those one minute feedings are filling her up after awhile or what). Anyway, this just happened, and I tried to offer her a bottle of formula and to pump instead...I got less than 1 ounce, but I usually fill a bottle..what is going on?

I am wanting to know if pumping my breast milk into a bottle is equilvalent to breastfeeding?
Am I burning the same calories as I would if he were to latch on to the breast?
Will I lose the same amount of weight by pumping into a bottle opposed to the baby latching onto the breast?

Thank you for your answers.

We have been in a monogamous relationship for a little over 3 years and he already has 1 child who is 6 years old. This would be our second time dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, the first time ended in an abortion. This time I cant bring myself to go through that agian and his opinion is "please dont have the baby". He has been begging me to have an abortion & continues to tell me that it's not the right time, we dont have a foundation, and most of all he just simply doesnt want anymore kids.
Is this right, what advice can a mother or 'mother to-be' give, or someone who has been through something similar?
