my sister had her 2nd child while on birth control. Thing is they say birth control is 99% effective, do you want to take the chance in being that 1% as my sister became?

If taken corectly the pill is 99% effective against pregnancy and if you dont always take it as your suposed to then your chance increase. (the pill doesnt protect against std and such so unless you know for a fact that the man is clean then still use condoms)
Its always suggested to use a condom even if your on the pill because if you take the pills more then a few hours later then usual then your chances increase. and you could alway be part of that 1% so its a good idea to use condoms too.

I had been on the pills for 3.5 years and never got pregnant and we used nothing else. The pills worked for me. I am pregnant now but that is because I stopped the pills. They say they are 99% effective so it is your choice whether or not to take the chance.

Wow, this is a very hard decision to make. I did a paper on hormone-containing birth control, you have a lot of side effects. To name a few...Blood clots, bone density loss, high blood pressure, migraines, and many more you wouldn't believe. I am a victim of a side effect as well, though my case wasn't too bad thank the Lord. Birth control contains two female sex hormones... Estrogen and Progesterone, we as female already contain both hormones naturally, so basically your giving your body an overdose of those two hormones, and that causes a ot of problems. Plus, using hormone-containing birth control gives people the misconception that it's SAFE..... No way! You can still get STD's and STI's. Don't necessarily listen to what your doctor tells you, do the research yourself. Good Luck!
P.S. it's always best to use condoms, and get yourself and your partner checked regularly. It is possible to contract an STD even while usong condoms.

taken correctly the pill is 99% effective. You can take the chance, usually it won't happen. Certain medicines (antibiotics & some diet pills) decrease the effectiveness of it. So aask your doc or pharmacist before taking anything. Just a FYI though, both of my kids are pill babies and I was religious in taking it everyday at the same time.

It is quite uncommon to become pg on the pill but it does happen and I know people that it has happened to. Though I was on them for 5 years without using any other contraception and did not beome pg. If they failed to do their job that often they wouldn't be on the market.
If you are completely paranoid though, use a condom too. Personally I can't stand the things which is why I was on the pill and it worked for me.

The pill is over 99% effective. The withdrawl method doesn't stop pregnancy anyhow since there is pre ejaculation that contains sperm anyhow. So there's no reason to keep doing that while on the pill.

the pill works good for you until you miss it just once to have unprotected sex because with out the condom the sperm does get in to your vigins so use the condom to be safe because of the diswases that come along with unprotected sex now days
