Hi, was wondering how wrong the medical staff or GP or nurse who first examined you got your due date ?

my midwife on this pregnancy totally messed up told me i was 14 weeks when i was only 10 so i had to have another scan wasn't until i was 14 weeks that they finally gave me a due date but my first one was a week out the first time its not until your 12 week scan that you'll be given the best estimate and most accurate due date but it can always change when you start to feel kicks your around 20 weeks so thats probably your best estimate

Hello,

I was given a due date of 1st September and had my first baby on 21st August. The medical staff didn't necessarily get the due date wrong- I had slightly high blood pressure and this could have caused an earlier labour.

A lot of first timers have their baby a little bit later than the estimated due date.

The scan at about 12 weeks and later at 20 weeks will give you a more accurate due date.

Hope this helps and good luck!

It's really not a case of medical staff getting it 'right' or 'wrong'. Full term is anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks. That's 35 days on which the baby could arrive. So there is a reasonably small chance of the baby arriving on its due date.

Less than 25% of all babies are born on their due date. They've changes my due date with my current pregnancy several times. First it was March 22(my very own estimation which my doctor concured with at first), then April 1, then March 29, and finally they've decided it's March 23 lol wish they'd make up their minds already! Good luck!

they just take the first date of your last period and work out 40 weeks from that... you should wait for your scan at about 12-15 weeks which is when they'll be able to give you a better date.

all my dates have been a few days either side what the scan said. my first was 1 day late, but my girl was 1 week early and my next was 1 week late i think they were makinging up for it.
I hope this one wont be that late.

good luck!

The hospital were about two weeks late with our due date - we were about 2 days out.

with my first pregnancy they were not exactly accurate, but i had to be induced anyway, just he was 10 days over, but with my second i told them he was due on the 25th jan and he came on that date, it will be two weeks either way and the baby will come when he is ready, i don't think anyone can predict exactly when the baby will be born, not even experienced medical staff.

i'm almost 10 weeks and have yet to have been contacted via my NHS midwife the two and, purely such as you, i'm getting truly impatient!! in case you reeaaally can no longer wait then i've got self assurance you would be waiting to pay attention the heart beat via now. i'm uncertain the thank you to circulate approximately getting between the listening-thingies (pardon my ever-so technical lingo!), ask your GP or do a seek on right here for what they're actual referred to as. in spite of this, you may desire to ring your surgical operation and ask to speak on your Dr... Ask if there is any risk of having your test somewhat in the previous. stable success with all of it! :D
