I had an ultrasound today to check on some spotting I had yesterday. I am 8 weeks and 2 days along and the baby measured 8 weeks and 3 days with a heartbeat of 179. Everything I'm reading online says a normal heart rate is 140 - 170. I'm nervous that this means something is wrong. Anyone had an ultrasound and their babies heartbeat was this high?

I am 38 weeks along and for about a week now I have been waking up in the morning with numb and slightly swollen hands. They are actually pretty achey all day. I do have mild gestational diabetes but I am taking care of it carefully with my diet. Maybe this is related...does anyone have any suggestions for RELIEF??

My husband and I are trying to conceive and trying my best to figure out when i ovulate, the problem is, my period is so irregular (my last one was Jan. 8th). For the first time today i checked my BBT (it was 98.1) and also my cervix and it was up soo high that i couldnt even get to it...it also felt very soft all over. What could this mean, could it be pregnancy? Would it mean before or after ovulation? Anyone who has experiance with this i would appreciate your help, serious and educated answers only please. Thanks!!

So I know the answer to all wonderings of pregnancies is to go see your doctor, or take a test. But I was just wondering should I even be worried, because the past couple of weeks my have breast have become larger and more sensitive, and I do feel sick sometimes. I know these. I also am exhausted most of the time, and I have found myself to be a little more hungry than usual. But I had my period last month, it was a bit lighter than normal. If I did get pregnant in the past 3 weeks I shouldn't be noticing anything right? I dont think I should worry, what do you think?

I just get really nauseated until I eat a peice of bread or cheese for example. Like a few minutes ago I ate a pop tart, and I got very sick with in just a few minutes of eating it. Could that mean anything? I was just curious.

My son just turned 9 months old and is still not sleeping thru the night. He gets up every hour which would be fine if i didn't have to go to work and have a 2 1/2 year old too! The longest he has ever slept was 4 1/2 hours. My peditritician said we have to let him cry it out. I always nurse my son to sleep and then put him in his crib sometimes he wakes up and cries a minute or 2 and sometimes he doesn't. Then he gets up about every hour to 50 minutes from then on all night long until 7am. We did try the cry it out method with our 1st child and he only cried a few minutes the first night 2 minutes the second night and then slept through the night after that but our 2nd son cried longer each day for the first 5 days and we couldn't continue on with it because it was not working with him. My peditrician said it may take up to 2 mths. I don't understand why. My ? is how long will a cry it out method take on a 9 mth old? All advice welcome and 10pts to best answer. Thanks for the help.

A cousin of my husband makes her husband sweep, vacumm, and mop because of the old wives tale of miscarriage and stillbirth. My question is how many of you do all of this while your pregnant and your baby came out fine. I can't get my husband to help me with this so I can't let my house get nasty. The other question is what do you think of these names for a girl Danielle Grace or Alysa Grace

I had a baby Dec. 22, 2006. I started exercising five weeks later. I was doing situp and crunches mostly. I have noticed that I have never really stopped bleeding, yes it has slowed but never really completely stopped.
When I do my crunches and situps I notice I start having soreness and stiffness in my pelvic area again and my bleeding picks up a bit. I really don't know when is the appropriate time to start doing exercise like that.
I have already been for my post pardum appointment, at 4 wks. I didn't ask my doc then because I wasn't exercising and wasn't thinking on it. He did give me a clean bill of health but we didn't talk about exercise.
Does anyone know a round about good time after giving birth to start doing things like crunches and situps?
