Does this cause ectopic pregnancy? Is this also where the fetus grows into the abdominal wall?

Preeclampsia is high blood pressure after week twenty of pregnancy. Eclampsia is high blood pressure, along with seizures after week twenty of pregnancy. It is dangerous to the baby, and sometimes babies are delivered early because of it. It does not cause ectopic pregnancy.

Eclampsia is the same condition as pre-eclampsia that has progressed far enough to have seizures. Seizures is the difference.
It is a disease of later pregnancy than anything that causes abnormal implantation (ectopic pregnancy) and is not related in any way to either condition mentioned.
It is most common in first pregnancies (or first pregnancies by a new father). It is not fully understood, but pre-eclampsia must be monitored closely. The only real treatment is delivery.

My understanding is that this in itself is an older term that is still sometimes used today to describe pregnancy induced hypertension... preeclampsia being the early signs of this. Symptoms including elevated blood pressure, higher levels of protein in the urine, severe bloating or water retention. All of which can put stress on the fetus and potential problems. Doctors will consider induction if problems become unmanageable.

I was put on bed rest for the last 2 months of my last pregnancy due to this same problem. I had to do weekly urinalysis, stress tests and blood work until I was finally induced into labor the last week of my pregnancy.
