I'm curious to know if anyone breastfed beyond their child's first birthday. My son's doctor told me today that now that he is 1 year old I "should starting the weaning process now." I'm thinking about continuing... but everyone that I talk to seems to be of the consensus that it's time I wean my 1 year old son. My mother even said that she agrees with the doctor. Is there little or no reason to breast feed beyond the first year?? Thanks.

I had my last period Dec.31 I have not started as of today. I have taken 4 home tests. The first 2 were on Jan. 25 and 27. They were both neg. Then I took 2 on the the 31st. They both had VERY faint lines. Then today Feb.2nd at the health department the test was pos. but again the line was VERY faint. I looked up some things online and read that the faint lines could be a possible miscarriage. Yet the nurse today said no. That a faint line does not mean you will miscarry. I am concerned since I had 3 miscarriage before my two kids were born, yet all those preg.test had very bright lines. I am wondering how common it is to have very faint lines on the test and still have a healthy pregnancy.
I would think that after being this late for my period (was due 1-26 with a 26 day cycle) would mean the HCG levels would be high enough to to give bright lines.
If anyone has had several tests with faint lines but had a full term healthy baby please let me know and calm my nerves.

ok...i am 15 and i already have 2 kids ages 3 and 1. and yes, if you were all wondering i am still with the father of both of my children. anyway, i am expecting ANOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont no how 2 tell my mom!!!!! she already completely ignores me now because i have 2 kids. do i even bother 2 tell her? i mean, she wasnt even there for my daughters birth 3 years ago. she kicked me out of the house, and now i live with my boyfriend who is seventeen. i dont know why she ignores me like that, because my kids are perfectly taken care of and my boyfriend and i are both still in school. how do i tell her i am pregnant again??????

She will cry so hard that her little face turns bright red, her hands shake and she screams so loud I just cant believe that she can cry so hard. What should I do, Should I just hold her because she is so young or should I let her scream. It kills me to see her scream so hard though. any advice!!

She was running a 101 fever today. She had tubes put in her ears on Monday. Today she would not eat and at lunch she was sitting there like something was wrong when the babysitter went to go check on her my babys arm was stiff and cold and jerking and her fingers was drawing up. I took her to the DR. and he said her fever was 102.6 and one of her ears was a little red again. But the stuff about her arm was nothing to worry about. I'm not so sure about that. Do you think her potassim(?) may be low?

I've been with my husband for a couple years now, and he wants to adopt a child because he doesn't want me to get pregnant. Are there any good adoption agencies I could look into? I'd try to persuade him otherwise, but when it comes to that and fresh coffee, theres just no convincing him.

i had a friend whose daughter was mentaly disable since birth,which i did not know untill i had my kid. i was very unaware about kids and whatever i said infront of her about my kid she took it very badly but never told me on my face. she could be very angry but did not tell me. i was a very naive person and ocassinaly said stupid things too. now for some reason we moved out and we are not in touch. but i know she spread the words about me that i am a very heartless person who like to laught and make fun of other kids.now it is 4 years now and we changed 4 schools becouse of moving, rumour about me going every where. my son's friend's parents thinks about me how she thinks.i asked for oppologies but she is not opening about what i did.i am very dipressed and do not know what to do.my husband do not think that she is doing this and not helping out.please advise me what to do.please note i never said anything intionally.

I have a dilema. I am 38 weeks pregnant with insulin dependent gestational diabetes. My doctor told me that I need to be induced early because of this and that she is nervous that if I wait until the 40 weeks the baby could become stillborn. My doctor will not induce me unless I have an amnio first to check lung maturity.

I keep telling her I don't want one because if I am being induced at 39 weeks then what is the point? Obviously it is dangerous if I wait until 40 weeks so why risk hurting the baby with an amnio at 39 weeks if I am going to be induced anyway because of the gestational diabetes? My baby is already over 9 pounds and I'm only at 38 weeks.

My doctor has consulted with two other doctors on this and they all agree that I should have the amniocentesis. What would you do? Has anyone ever been through this before?

I received a telemarketing call, now they're sending someone over to the house. They sent me an information package and it all sounds pretty good but I've never heard of anyone's personal experience and they did not mention cost at all which does worry me.

Sex at fifteen. My last cycle was 33days, I had my period on the Jan 13th and sex on the Jan 27th approx 15 days after my period, I have read that i probly would be more fertile from the 29th to the 3rd by doing the ovulation perdictors but, do i still have a high chance of conceiving?

my cousin alexis is so unrespectful. She has not been disciplined. If she were my child she would be in army classes with mean drill sergents. I was raised the same way. I may be still a mature 10 yr old but I don't mind life now. Alexis would not live a single day in boarding school. She is so self centered. Why do they do this? Why so much?

I just had my baby via c-section Jan 23.The baby is perfect, but I had a really high fever and a severe reaction to antibiotics while in thhe hospital. A good friend (her and her husband are going to be God parents) came to the hospital during my high fever and I was really uncomfortable as it was... we tried to get her to leave but she kept insisting that she was on an antibiotic and she was fine. Finally she left. I came home on Fri night and she wanted to know if she could come that night and I told her no. Then she wanted to come both Sat and Sun and bring her 3 boys ( ages 14, 14 and 12) and bring lunch for everyone. I told her I wasn't up to that much entertainment, but she could come for an hour or so and meet the baby.(her 3 teen age boys raid my pantry and eat and drink everything in sight) I tried to be as honest as I could but she left a voice mail at my house and asked me why I was being so mean to her. How can I get her to understand that I am just not ready for that?

My son is 25 and has a child to a girl who has another child from a previous relationship. He's not working, lacks confidence, is drinking and he seems to be so far away emotionally. My daughter is 22 and has been in a relationship with a man who is over 40. I don't have a problem with the age but she seems to be manipulated by him. He calls her several times a day and sometimes up to 3am which disturbs my sleep. They break up and go back together every week, he won't allow her to have male friends and went through her laptop recently to find her yahoo chat friends, he was angry over it. I guess I can't do much about their lives as I have exhausted myself trying. I have studied at uni for years to become a teacher and I have 1 year left, I'm scared that I will not be able to keep a job because this has been so consuming. My mother tells me I will never have my own life. I wanted to teach in rural areas but there's little chance of that. I'm 43, no relationship and no friends, HELP!
