Usually with this question I just get women to reply. Men please reply. NO offense but I don't want long comments on how much you love your children and could never regret the best thing to ever happen to you! I'm not a parent but I think thats how most parents feel and I already know. Again no offense but thats not what the question is about.

My whole life I have wanted my mother to be in the delivery room when I had my baby and now that I am pregnant my husband has basically said he wanted it to be just me and him, he banned people from all the ultra sounds and argues with me when I tell him I would like my mother there. He finally told me if my mother was there then he wouldn't be. He knows I wouldn't let that happen. Is he being selfish or am I, and has anyone else had to deal with this?

I am almost 6 months pregnant and I am becoming very constipated. So much so, that when I go to the bathroom I find myself straining hard so I can go. Does this affect my baby in any way? Will it hurt her?

I am a stay at home parent of three, and feel like I'm going nuts! I love my kids dearly and would do anything for them, but I find myself wishing I were back at work. I miss being away, having adult conversations, using my brain to assist other adults, and coming home to my kids after a day at work. Am I the only stay at home parent that feels pulled in two directions? And why is it so hard to be satisfied with such a great life?

We just found out (by a blood test) that my son is "mildly" allergic to cats and peanuts....My first question is...what are some of the things I can give him? It seems as if all of his favorite foods have soybean oil or something in it....What if the nutrition facts dont say "May contain traces of peanuts" but the ingredients still say soybean oil? Does that mean anything? Ok...second question..my mom has a cat, she babysits twice a week....What should I do about this? My sister (who lives there) Refuses to get rid of the cat (I had a cat and got rid of it) she is super close to the cat (she's 5 years old..the cat) and she has a screaming fit everytime I even mention it....but everytime my son goes over there he breaks out in a horrible rash and itches everywhere....I cant have my son in pain, it breaks my heart....I dont know what to do!! Thank you for all your suggestions, and sorry if my wording is confusing...

Why is the job of parenting so looked down upon? It's the most important and one of the hardest jobs; it requires immense patience, communication, imagination, time management, and is 24/7. So why do so many people seem to think stay at home parents do nothing?

He is 18 months old. He is very talkative and the pacifier doesn't appear to be affeting his speech at all. In fact he takes it out to talk. He really only uses it when he is tired or cranky. My dad keeps telling me that it's going to turn out bad in the end, but he seems to be progressing just fine. I think that it's a good security tool right now and I'd much rather him suck on that than his thumb. Everyone in my family has had strong "suck reflexes". I just want to know when is too old? If you are against pacifiers in general please don't answer this. I don't want to hear that giving it to him was wrong. I only started giving it to him because he was starting to suck his thumb. Me, my sister, and my cousin sucked our thumbs until we were 5 or over. I don't want that for him so I figured I'd give him something that could be taken away when the time is right.

First, I'm not pregnant yet, but my boyfriend and I want to start trying soon and we're already talking about looks (eye/hair color) though we probably shouldn't and no matter what, we'd be happy so long as the baby's healthy. I'm 100% Korean, brown hair/eyes, no non-Korean ancestry as far as I know. Bf is French with some German/Polish/Russian blood. He is dirty blond with blue-gray eyes. His mother is brown/brown, father is brown/blue-gray but was platinum blond as a child (as was my bf). My bf says he saw asian-european twin babies who were blond/blue though their mother is (or at least appeared to be) full asian. He thinks there's a chance maybe we'll have the same..? I think ours will be brown/brown (whatever shade) as brown is dominant and I don't have any recessive blond/blue in my ancestry.

My period was two days late and it started off really light. Today it is heavy. I had pregnancy symptoms last week, but none today. Could I still be pregnant? (I ovulated on the 16 January and had intercourse)

earlier in my pregnancy I was having BH contractions and it felt like a muscle tightening and it kind of hurt but it wasn't too painful. I stopped having them for a long time but now recently I have been getting what I think are contractions but I don't know because they don't feel the same. I can't really feel anything other than a weird tingly feeling and my tummy is getting really hard. Is that a contraction? I'm due on the 19th.
