Cold hard cash :)
My dad always offered me $5 per A.
If I got all A's I'd get $10 per A and then he'd take me out to a nice dinner some where :)

I'm not a Dad, but I do have one.

The best advice I can offer is to be well-educated yourself.

And keep in mind that there are ways to do well in school beyond just grubbing for grades. Worry if your daughter is exceptionally "bored" in school, and remember that a lousy grade sometimes means smart, not stupid. Normal classes don't offer much for the gifted.

Encourage the more useful sorts of extra-curricular activities -- don't be stingy at the bookstore, don't use television as a babysitter, sign her up for classes in whatever she's interested in, and take an interest yourself. Her misshapen clay bowl brought home from an after-school art class should be the most stunning work of art you've ever seen.

I am not a dad but I am a daughter and this works always reward them for all the A's on the report card. For example if she gets A's and B's then just reward for the A's that way she will strive to make higher in the classes she earn a B in. Another thing if she happens to get all A's then reward her with a gift card from a place of her choice...ex. favorite store, restuarant, etc

I am a mom but I think the best way you can help her do well in school is to get involved... find out what she is studying in school and maybe get her extra books on the subject ( ie space or dinosaurs)..... let her know that when you are talking on the phone or visiting that you are there to help with her studies. ie) if she is doing a speech for school she can practise with you on the phone.... Praise the efforts she is making and encourage good study habits for the sake of understanding and good grades...and support her mothers efforts as well as a unified front when it comes to children works best !!! Good Luck Dad!!!
