I filled out your survey but wanted to point out also that size is also a huge factor in maternity clothing today. While they have made some progress it is still very difficult to find clothing that will fit the unaverage size. I personally had trouble finding clothes to fit my thin 5' frame, many clothes were just too big even when labeled XS. Also, I know a lot of more average sized women in my birth group had trouble finding tops that were long enough.
I noticed that you had a pretty strong focus on pricing, and you're right, maternity clothes are way over priced. Spending so much on clothing you are only going to wear for 6 months is plain ridiculous.
Some maternity bottoms have that little adjustable waist tab in the waist band, I found that to be extremely uncomfortable- nice idea but poorly executed IMO. Clothing companies really need to do better in the maternity department!

You missed, I think, one critical problem -- a lot of the maternity clothes out there are very poor quality.
Even the pricy stuff involves a lot of artificial fibres, lousy fabrics, and shoddy construction.
