well.......if my husband said something like that he would be getting a fat lip and i would be walking out the door......but i wouldn't be married to someone like that in the first place.....usually couples discusses having children BEFORE they get married so these sort of problems dint come up......but i think he needs an attitude adjustment and to get over himself...he sounds very shallow....but a good question for you would be.....if he gained 40lbs would you still love him? i am sure that you would....but if he cant say the same then he should be finding himself someone else.

Ok if your husband is anything like most men in america hes a tight wad with his money.Find a relly nice adoption agency and print out all their information.Espechally the price list. Most adoptions demesticaly for a wight baby your looking at a min of 17,000.00 to 36,0000.00. Haveing your own child basicly if you have insurance is 20.00 co pay every two weeks or if you dont have insurance its free threw the state. As far as you getting fat,lol yes its going to make you gain a little weaght but you can look up a pregnacy diet and excersize plain to assure a healthy baby with little excess weaght gain.Look at the stairs like britney spears madonna ect they got their bodys back after child birth and my last thought is this does he love YOU or your BODY?

,If you really want to have your own child you should tell him so, and let him know how important it is to you. If he really loves you for who you are, and he really wants to have children, then he should have no qualms about you getting pregnant.
Adopting is a good thing to do, but it sounds like you might be doing it for the wrong reasons. Besides if you want the experience of being pregnant, you may regret it on down the road.
Being pregnant is a wonderful experience. I have 3 children, and each pregnancy was different and wonderful in it's own way.
If you are considering doing this just so you don't get fat, then maybe neither one of you are ready to have children anyway.

well hello cheryl i think you have the right to get pregnant if you want to that is your right your husband needs to either straighten up and let you get pregnant or you should get read of him then because you have to watch real close who you try to adopt a child from that could be very costly and you may never find any one to adopt

Go right past the adoption agency next door to the divorce lawyer. Then find yourself a real man who wants to have your child.

You want to raise a child with someone that selfish and shallow? Adopting is wonderful when it's done for the right reasons. I don't mean to be harsh, but you need to get a self-esteem boost and tell him where to put his opinions. I'm surprised that you are even entertaining his notion to adopt for the sake of your appearance.

Eeeeeeewwwww....how shallow!!!!!.. He needs a good kick in his rear end!
I have 2 kids and I am not fat at all but rather thin and very in shape. Tell him to get over it and create a beautiful combination of the two of you. You can get yourself back into shape after you have brought a beautiful baby into the world. What could be more gratifying?

Don't adopt a child with that man. Imagine what would happen if the child got fat.

I'd start looking for a divorce attorney if my husband ever told e that. Yeah, I did gain weight during and after pregnancy. But my husband hasn't left me (yet...) ;). If your partner is that insulting and belittling to you, I wouldn't want him to be a father. What kind of self-image issues would your kids have with that man as a father?!?!

Ok if he doesn't want kids becasue he's afraid you'll get fat then he seriously needs an attitude adjustment. That is what's called being shallow. if you really want to adopt, then try openadoption.org
