each time i heard my babys heartbeat, it was beating fast. the doc didnt say much. but i was just wondering has this happened to anyone else and does it have to do with salty foods.is iron and prenatives the only pills to take

It's everywhere is spanking good for your kids... does it leave a mark?
If your older and was spanked do you remember it? do you remember why you were spanked? did you do what you spanked for again?

do you feel scarred for life because you where spanked?

do you know the difference in abuse and a spanking?

I just want to see what everyone thinks.. I am for spanking your kids I was spanked when i did something way bad! I don't really remember what for but i was a good kid i didn't want that spanking ever again so i just staied out of trouble!
now over all i think i'm a great human if i wasn't spanked would i of turned out this good! ummm

What are your thoughts about all of this?

I m worried about my labor as it is not beginning yet.My doc told me that she expects the baby to be og 8 lbs till now .M worried why m not going in to labor as my baby may gain more weight in the mean time .Can anybody who is experienced suggest me that what shud I do to speed up my labor.Doc tells that my cervix is just 70% thinned since last 2-3 weeks no progress furthur.Please help me what shud I do to control the baby s weight??

My fiance and I want to have a baby.......and we have been making love a lot, but not too much. We do take breaks, but we still do something to try to conceive. What position is best for baby making, and just curious to know if certain food is helpful for making a baby (what foods are best to eat), and how do you know when you are ovulating? I had all the signs of a pregnancy last month, but the oven was empty and there was no pregnancy, even though my period was a week late. What could I do to best achieve a successful pregnancy (don't care if a boy or a girl) ... ?

Hi there!! My 18 yr. old sister-in-law is preggers, yay for her! I do not have a baby of my own, so I really don't know where to look for discounted baby things. But she is staying with my self and my husband, so we need it all, crib, changer, stroller, carseat, clothing for her and the baby. We want new things if possible, or atleast if you can refer me to some where trust worthy, for safety reasons of the baby products. Please if you know any where that I can look for these types of things, please let me know. Thanks!

I am a single mom. My brother rough houses with my daughter and I have asked him so many times to be more gentle with her. He has accidently hurt her a little. Not bad... but by being more rough then I am comfortable with. They have so much fun and laugh and play. But as a parent I would like to be able to say 'don't be so rough' and have that respected instead of ignored. There have been times that she has asked him to stop as well, and he hasn't. Finally I emailed him and told him that this is starting to upset me. It shouldn't be such a big deal. Just stop when the parent asks you too. He emailed me back saying this: "she doesn't have a dad or brothers so I am helping her toughen up because life is hard out there." I felt that he was basically saying that I am raising her to be a wimp and that I am not capable, as a single mother to raise a well balanced child that can do well out in the world. How would you as a mother take this? Would you feel cristisized?

My husband and I decided to start trying for our second child shortly after Christmas so I quit my bc pills. I recently found out I had an absessed tooth that needed to be extracted and was given loratab for the pain. Before taking these I took a pregnancy test that came out negative. Now my period is four days late. Did I take the preg. test too early and if so did I harm my unborn baby. Also my periods are very irregular when I am not on the bc pills. Please someone help me ease my mind. I want to have a healthy baby!

As a doula, it's my responsibility to inform my clients of their options and the pros and cons of them...and then support that decision. I believe the best decisions are informed decisions. However, I've noticed that a lot of women don't have accurate knowledge of the pros and cons of epidurals (and other hospital procedures available). I'm wondering if this is true for the general public or it truly is the popular informed decision when birthing in a hospital. Before anyone gets upset, I am fully aware that it's a personal choice. I also understand (first hand) that sometimes it is very necessary.... and for that reason, I am glad we live in a country and time where technology can save lives. With that said, like everything in this world, it can be abused by using it too much. So, what does the general public feel that the pros and cons of getting an epidural are during labor/birth?

On Dec 20/21st, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend at the end of my period. I've been reading that it is possible to get pregnant on your period-which is fine. how far along in a pregnancy can you be before you require an operation for the removal of a baby who has been miscarried?? i guess what i am asking is.at what point is surgury necessary? i know that in early pregnancy you can just bleed and cramp for a bit and that's it..but what about if you're further along?
if i was 5 months, for example, would i just cramp and bleed? or would i need to go to have an operation?

he was climbing out of his cot so we put him in a bed,he climbs in and lays there but won't let me leave him,and i have to stay with him till he is asleep,sometimes it takes ages,he was fine in his cot just tucked him in etc and he has always gone to bed same time and awake,now he wont even have the door shut,he also wakes a few times and comes into our room and gets in our bed,or i have to get in with him.

My daughter is 18 months old. We read together everyday. She plays with her kitchen and play food. She watches one video a day, usually baby einstein or sesame street. She follows me around the house while I pick up or do laundry, cook etc. She plays with playdo sometimes. Loves to pretend to be sleeping. We play peekaboo. We sing songs. Go over ABC's, shapes and numbers.
I am looking for some suggestions of activities to add to our routine. I think she is starting to get bored, I know I am. We don't have money to go out and do things. So that is out. We probably get out once or twice a week for normal grocery shopping and visiting.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

bcuz i took more then one urinating pergnacy test and it came out negative but my stomach looks like i would be preganat...... its getting bigger (and im a pretty small girl) and its round and i mean it looks like a pregant girls stomach in the beging of her first few months not to large though but it is a bigger stomach then i had a few months ago...
p.s besides the fact i think im getting bigger in my stomach area my boobs seem to have grew a little more and the guy im with even had said that they got bigger..and my best friend who i havnt even told her anything yet( bcuz im scared of what she'll say) had a dream i was pregnat with the guy im with now a

My niece is 12 and is very easily influenced.Staretd middle school this year. Her additude has changed. She started an account on myspace (when she was told not to even visit the site) and I found where she was talking to a boy friend. He was trying to pressure her in to having SEX!! She has recently started trying to get away with things and then she lies about them when caught. I know some of this is normal for her age. However,my sister is a singal parent and wants to establish open communication. We are scared this is just the start of a long road to bad situations. My sister doesn't know how to nipp this in the bud before it gets out of control. Please give some advice!

My dr recently called after getting the results of my 20 week ultrasound and said that i have complete previa, meaning the placenta is completly on top of my cervix, he advised pelvic rest and all of this, and said he will talk with me more at my next appointment which is in about a week. Im really nervous, has anyone had this and what was the outcome? This is my third child. I had natural births both times. My dr said there is a chance that it will move when my tummy grows more, can this happen? What are the chances of it moving? Tell me all you can please!!!! Thanks so much!

Im looking for answers from average sized women.
at 24 weeks how much weight have you gained so far?
I have lost more than anything, total weight gain for me. 1 POUND!!!! whats the normal, I would like to know how bad this is, my doc isnt worried, but I am! (and who can help it- if I gain a pound a week from now on- thats only a total of 17 pounds!)
