My fiance and I want to have a baby.......and we have been making love a lot, but not too much. We do take breaks, but we still do something to try to conceive. What position is best for baby making, and just curious to know if certain food is helpful for making a baby (what foods are best to eat), and how do you know when you are ovulating? I had all the signs of a pregnancy last month, but the oven was empty and there was no pregnancy, even though my period was a week late. What could I do to best achieve a successful pregnancy (don't care if a boy or a girl) ... ?

I see that you are 2 are engaged, y don't you wait till u get married? Just a question....

I've heard drinking Green tea before pregnancy (not during pregnancy) is good for fertility. Eat foods rich in folic acid, oranges, green veggies, take a prenatal vitamin...

It's good to get a good exercise program going to increase blood flow and give you stamina. And let it rip!

Eating yams or sweet potatoes actually increase your chances of having multiple birth pregnancies. They did a study in West Africa and discovered this. So be careful eating yams unless you don't mind having more than 1 baby at a time. I'd recommend getting those ovulation tests from the market, they really helped me. To answer your question about positions, go to the link I pasted below. The average couple has a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month, so it may take about 5 months, So don't get bummed if it doesn't happen right away. Best of luck to you both!

Well have you started taking prenatals yet? Thats best to do while trying to conceive. I bought ONE SOURCE Prenatals from walmart. They were about 9 bucks but the folic acid is really good for a developing baby. Foods low in fat, high in fiber should be on the top of your list when eating healthy. Folic acid is also important, and your body should be taking in no less than 400 mcg per day. Good sources of folic acid or vitamin B are your prenatal vitamins, dark leafy veggies, fruits such as oranges, grapefruits and other citrus, nuts, beans, wheat breads and cereals like cheerios.

These are all excellent sources of folic acid and should become daily parts of your diet.

There are no foods SCIENTIFICALLY proven to increase your chances of fertility. Except maybe one.

Oysters.

I also read somewhere else that if you want a boy start eating salty foods like pretzels or pickles before you get pregnant, for a girl sweet items.
I went to google or yahoo and type foods to eat when trying to concieve and a bunch of pages will come up. Good luck and be patient

there are no foods that you eat to help get pregnant ...i know. but, always let him on top that allows easier travel for the sperm. also, my tip would be to stop thinking so hard about it. put your mind in the love making and the love making only. oh, try a really sensual message (he can give this to you) and afterwards get it on. this will help if you are fully healthy. soon a bun will be in that oven. stop worrying about getting preggers. because your mind is somewhere else during the sex is the reason you haven't concieved.

I've heard the yams helps promote fertility as proven by a study of yoruba women in africa.

But if you don't want to eat yams, i would suggest just eliminating certain items from your diet: caffeine and alcohol. Also pick-up a bottle of prenatal vitamins.

I am in the same boat right now with my husband. You can buy ovulation test at the store in the same section as you would buy preg test, also try after sex, laying flat on your back and prop up your butt just alittle to get the sperm where your uterus is. good luck!!!

Go see a Doctor please.

He can make you a program (Calendar) of what you & your partner should do, what to eat, exercises, ovulation.
