Now this may sound harsh & t may be hard to do. it was for me.. but it did work. Since mothers today are to quick to cater to crying baby's in The night.. We are not giving them a chance to learn to sleep on their own. As long as we go to them in the night they will wake.

first night.. let cry for 10 minutes before going in room
Third night let cry for 15 minutes before going in room
5th night let cry for 20 minutes before going in the room
7th wait for 30 minutes.. it does work.. I have used it on all 3 kids. keep the clock close by its hard the first few days for you more then the child but rules change if child is sick .. then cater

Seriously, I heard you need to flip your baby upside down and around, if the baby has their days and nights mixed up. However, at 1 month, this is normal. You can begin to play with your baby and try and keep him up a bit. I really won't plan on an all night sleep til your baby is 7-8 months old, maybe even older. I am on my 5th month of not having a full nights sleep, I am the walking dead. Hang in there, one day it'll be better!!

Your baby is only one month old. If you need to get up and feed him twice or three times at night what is the big deal? During the day try and make sure his naps are spaced out and not longer than 2 hours. Once he is a little older and you have a good routine he will start sleeping better at night.

My advice is for the baby to get at least 6 really good feeds during day time hours (between 7am and 7pm). I was given the advice that if babies get all their nutritional needs during day time hours they will start to sleep better at night. I would make sure that baby is really hungry before each feed and not too tired so he/she feeds really well.

The baby also needs to have good naps during the day. If baby is overtired then it will be harder for him/her to sleep at night.

Once feeding and day time naps are sorted out then the night time sleep may start to happen.

This is what I did with my baby recently - he is nearly 4 months old and has been sleeping through the night for 4 weeks straight now (i'm stoked). I know it's not a long long time but you have to start some where hey?

Of course, babies will only sleep through when they are ready to.

Well DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE BED WITH YOU!!!!! that is # 1 !!! Then I will tell you you need to wrap him/her tight ( swaddle ) and it will help some. I just got my 1 year old to sleep through the night. ( so it took me a long time..I had to make her cry it out) I thought I could let her sleep with us and it would do nothing.. thats bull ****BUT, the normal is 4-6 months so everthing is soooo normal. If he/she is not sleeping by 6 months re-ask!!

Make sure they are not being overfed right before bed.
Make sure you give gas med. before bed.
Make sure you tone things down to let them learn day from night.

This could be related to many things. Is your infant more alert during the evenings, yet, sleeps during the day? He/she probably has day/night confusion. Remember, healthy newborns sleep about 20-22 hours each day. Unfortunately, it sounds like your baby is waking at night. Try to not swaddle him/her in the day time and talk to him/her to keep them awake in a well lit room for at least an hour or so during the day. I would recommend not rocking/holding until the infant is sleeping, yet, only until they are ALMOST asleep. Then, swaddle snuggly (blanket AWAY from face!!! - and swaddle ONLY until they can kick out of the swaddle per AAP safe sleep guidelines). Place him/her on their back in an empty crib with a pacifier until they hopefully lull themselves to sleep. I hope this helps!

Do you mean sleep through the night? Or, does the baby have nights and days mixed up?

try putting baby cereal in her bottle.doc's say dont but moms say yes. trust me it works.(mom of 2.)what happens when u have a full tummy? u want to sleep right? give it to her only in the last bottle b4 bed time.another good idea, when it is her bed time, turn off any overhead lights, keep the tv @ a soft volume, noise to a minimum, give her the bottle,if fighting sleep, try gently rubbing her back kind of like a masage & getting her to relax, maybe humming or singing softly.she should at least sleep longer when she does go to bed and.dont pick her up right away when she wakes @ night ,try just patting her back or rubbing her stomach in a circular motion.(not supposed to sleep on back but both of mine did & that also helps them sleep thru the night

Put the baby on a schedule like how the nurses had the child at the hospital.
