Doctors dont always get the babies weight right!! They told my friend she was having a 5lb baby...she had a 8lb baby!!
I wouldnt try and control the babies weight just let nature do what it does best.

Goodluck with Bubs!!

Even doctors can not accurately predict the size of a babys weight while it is inside you. Don't worry about a thing, just continue to eat healthy and rest- you have a lot of work (labor) very soon! Walking can help speed labor, and things like an epidural can slow labor down, but the baby will make its entrance into the world either way. My friends doctor said her baby would be 9 pounds and she was born at 40 weeks, and she only weighed 6.3 pounds. It is not worth worrying about unless you have gestational diabetes and are late. In that case, the doctor will probably suggest a Csection anyway.

Its ok your labor hasn't begun yet. My friend had a baby and she didn't start dilating until one week before she was due, and then she was only a 2. Her midwife said it will happen on its own. Some women take longer and others can just go with no problem. My ob instructor is a big believer in nipple stimulation because it releases oxytocin in your body and this causes your uterus to start contracting. Also the myth of having sex to speed things along is true according to my instructor. She has been teaching ob for 15yrs. Good luck! Your baby will be here before you know it!

dont do anything with the babys weight. Keep yourself healthy. Labor is a natural progress and it will happen. You can go walking and keep busy until then and that will help. If you still have not went they will perform a c- section and either way your sweet baby will be here.

Why hasn't she induced you yet? I'm sorry, but that is just bad doctoring! Doctors today are not suposed to let your child get much beyond 8lbs. It leads to much more complications, including C Section. I would speak to my doctor about induction. If you are very concerned about the size of the baby and your doctor says no to an induction I would advise you to find a new doctor (yes, even this late). You can't do anything to control the baby's weight. Even if you ate nothing until the baby is born, he/she would continue to grow, it would just take the nutrients from your body and make you malnurished. If you want to know more about what it's like to be induced feel free to e-mail me.

You still have almost 2 weeks until your due date. Why are you worried? The doctor's estimate on a baby's weight can be off by a pound or more.

you can't. Do not starve yourself. I know this is strange, but I took a tiny tiny sip of beer (I never drink, never did pregnant but had a BIG urge for beer). the next day, I went into labor. Also, sex will make you go into labor.

My daughter was 9 pounds 3 ounces, 20 inches long. I had a long labor but I don't believe it was because she was large, some women have long labors with small babies.

Wow you sound just like me. I was told my baby was 8lbs but she was born at 7.4oz. When I went into labor it's because I leaked a little fluid, and when I got there they said there wasn't any fluids protecting the baby (it was a slow leak). So I had to have my pregnancy induced. It didn't hurt. They gave me this liquid that slow induced labor. If you want to speed up your delivery. LOTS AND LOTS OF SEX. Your doctor will recommend this to you along with walking.

Ok first thing is .. dont worry.. pregnancy dates can go two weeks either way.. and 2 weeks isnt going to make a huge difference in weight.. Walking helps though. And Ive learned half the things we worry about never come to pass.. Dont worry..
