I lost a lot of wieght at the beginning too, and i am now 22 weeks and have gained maybe 5 lbs. My doc isn't worried either, he said you'll gain it when the baby needs it. So far everything else is great. he said he worries more about people who gain too much weight!
Hope that helps

Is that normal? Where you overweight to start with? Did you have a hard first trimester? Have you changed your diet and started exercising? It is possible that the baby is getting all the nutrients it needs and your body is loosing. What does you OB have to say about that? I gained 50 pounds total...by 24 weeks probably a good 10 pounds. But I was about 10 pounds underweight when I got pregnant, Which is why I got pregnant, because I was lookin sooo good. So I gained right away. And I was hungry the whole pregnancy.
Most of your weight will be gained in the last trimester. Good luck...talk to your OB...not us...most of us don't know what we are taking about anyway.

Feel lucky! at 24 weeks you've probably already had the ultrasound, and that means your baby must be a fine size or the doc would be worried! by 24 weeks I had gained over 30 lbs. I ended up gaining 50 for my entire pregnancy, and I've only lost about 20 of it so far, so be thankful you'll have less useless fat hanging around!

I would think if you gain a total of 17 lbs you're okay. Because my doctor told me to gain between 20-40 lbs. So I wouldn't worry! Good luck girl!!

my best friend lost weight through out her first pregnancy. But she was a little overweight, so the doctor said as long as the baby was still growing and she didn't drop below a certain weight then he wasn't worried. She had morning sicknes 24/7 and could only keep down fluids most of the time.

some women lose more weight than they gain when pregnant.try eating smaller more frequent meals.healthy meals that have protein and vitamins, drink milk, dont over do it on exercise.at about 24wks,depending on your ht.wt.before baby and body size you should have gained about 3 to 4 lbs. at least but it is not unusaul not gain any thing.smoking also effects how much you
AND the baby gain, so if you smoke stop or at least slow down.
