Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 January 2007

I give my baby breastmilk in a bottle because he doesn't latch on right but when he was born he weighed 7lbs 12oz now he weighs 11 pounds I think hes gaining too much weight too fast. I feed him 4-5 oz every 3-4 hours is this too much? Sometimes he's still hungry and Im not sure if to feed him more or not.

38 weeks 2 days to be exact...I've been dilated 1 1/2 for 2 weeks, 60% effaced, he's dropped, I have had loose stools, crampiness, have had mild to painful braxton hicks everyday for over 2 weeks, and have really really sharp pains on my cervix....now this sounds (and feels) like labor is right around the corner...any stories or thoughts, cause I feel like my labor is never going to start, I'm so miserable.

Okay so my best friend thinks she is having a miscarriage...she went to the doc today because she had a positive pregnancy test on saturday, but sunday she started bleeding and it has gotten heavier as the days have passed. The doc took a blood test, it was still positive, but she told me tonight the cramping has gotten worse. She is supposed to go back to the doc on Thurs. Would she be cramping and in pain if she were having a miscarriage this early in pregnancy...at this point she would be about 4 weeks pregnant.

We have 4 girls and really want a boy, I know about time and postions and we are trying that too but are there any wives tales about food or somthing like that, we'd try under water basket weaving if we thought it would help!

Those of you who have Unique names and you have named your children unique names do you think that everyone should have the right to a different name instead of having 5 Joshua's and Emily's in the same class?

Also you are successful right? I am a photo Major and I am also going toward a degree in Anthropology specializing in the field of Archeaology. Can you think of any people who did great things with unique names, I am not talking apple or cocoa names cause those are trashy but that last question pissed me off.

I am defensive about my name because I think it is really pretty, and it's Jewish (I was told by a Jewish lady at passover when I was 12) Also I named my daughter something unique and I don't regret it in the least I hate how some people are so unoriginal sometimes. I mean I guess if you like the name Jane or Emily or Hayden or Haley...the list goes on that's okay but what about identity?

My daughter has a "mildew" type smell in her ears. Mostly her right ear. She doesn't act like it bothers her, and it's smelled like that for a while. She doesn't have a doctors appt until March, but I want to know what's going on NOW! I don't know what ears are suppose to smell like, cause I can't smell mine. Please help.

I have been on the pills for three months now. I have a daughter that is eight month old. When I started the green pills. I always start cramping. I always cramp that week.

First time, I started on the wednesday. I start a new set of one week of pills on Sundays. The last time I started I started on Tuesday and It's tuesday now. It has been two days since I started on Sunday. This is my first time on the pill. Before I I got prangant, I was on the shot.

During the last month, there were times that I forgot to take the pill at the time. I'm just wondering if the pill will do this to a person or what, or if I'm am?

So, im not over weight...but i gained a few pounds recently. I need to lose ten pounds as quick as i can, and i have about two weeks to do it. I will do anything but starve or puke! Im not into that stuff but anything you guys can tell me or ways you did it would be a miracle!

i am 37 weeks pregnant...last week i had sex with my hubby. we had oral sex, and he had some allergy or food infection on his lips, after two days i have got same kind of problem around my vagina, i dont have itching sensation..but i have severe burning sensation and something like pimples have appeared aroung vagina.....i am not able to walk or sleep, due to the burning sensation..i have started using antiseptic lotion...but dont know whether it is going to work out....

what my concern is, is it going to harm my baby...what should i do now..i am really scared....i was not able to sleep properly..please help me...

I've noticed reciently that my 1 month old really struggles to get farts and poops out. I only really eat 1 meal a day-and a good snack- so i thought perhaps that may be her problem. could my low intake of food be affecting her milk and causing her struggles?

My boyfriend and I are both 23. We have been together over 2 years and we have lived together for almost the whole 2 years. We are SO happy together, but i'm wanting a baby and he's not ready for it! I had a miscarriage right before we got together and he doesn't understand that its been killing me ever since. I cry daily over it, and he tries to understand, but he's in school and doesn't want it yet. I work a good job that would allow me to work days, and my mom works a daycare, so my mom would watch the baby when i was at work... and we'd be ok honestly, but he's really worried about the money aspect of it all. We make enough now to support ourselves plus some and he just won't see it! It's getting really hard on me to try to keep it all in, because he was getting tired of hearing it all the time. And there are days when he talks about it and it gets my hopes up. And we don't use ANY protection and so im just getting mixed signals. Any advice?

We did use protection but i don`t use any pills. I did bath 3 times in dettol but my stomach is swolling and my boobs is a little bit swore and sometimes i get cramps. I`ts 2 weeks ago when it happened. Can i be pregnant?? Or is it the sex afterwards simptoms? I didn`t test myself for pregnancy and when can i do that, to make sure. I`m really really worried that i could be pregnant??

My husband and I are on the fence about having a 3rd child. My boys are 2.5 and 16 months and we were thinking of having a third child (a girl would be great). We just wanted to know how drastically our lives/family dynamics will change with a third. I'm fearful of middle-child syndrome, not being able to handle 3 kids going out to run erronds etc. I am especially intersted on how our lives will change once the kids are in school, with activities etc. Any advice?

my two year old son's behavior is turning out to its worse, just a month ago he was such a sweet heart he loved to cuddle, and do everything with me but now he doesn't want me to hold him much and when we try to take a nap with each other on the couch he always gets off and starts being naughty, mouths off, he hits and when i came to pick him up at the daycare the babysitter said that he pulled this little girls hair. what is changing his behavior????
