Pregnancy & Parenting - 29 January 2007

I posted a ? about my daughter and almost shocked at some of the responses. Why do parent think you can stop your child from having sex or makeing choices that you might find wrong. You cant controll your childrens choices in life all you can do is raise them right and hope that you have giving them the wisdom to do good. Parents that think they can stop their children from having sex are crazy. Talking about sex and thing are not going to make your child go out and have sex nor is NOT talking to your children about sex going to stop your children from doing so. As parents its our job to protect our children but in the end its still their choice to do or not to do. I know my kids are going to have sex no matter what I say or do, and its not about if they do or not do something its a matter of WHEN they choose to do these things. So why do some parents think that their kids will never do these things because they taught them so well?

When my 11-month old wants my attendition (i.e. like when I'm standing doing dishes), he'll crawl over and bite me. If he has a pacifer in his mouth, he won't do this. I try to tell him NO, but he doesn't understand. Also, he constantly blows raspberries. At first it was cute, but now he does it all the time - especially in your face! Other than that, he's a great baby. How should I handle these issues?

Is this normal? She just has not shed any teeth yet and none of them are loose either. She has regular dental check ups and cleanings every six months. Is there anything I can do or give her to eat to make the process start quicker? Share your child's experiences when they lost they teeth please. Thanks

my daughter is almost 9 months old, when do you stop giving them baby cereal? and also she uses a pacifier, i know its not good, please dont comment on how she shouldnt have it, but she wont use the next size up she still uses the small one, every time i try the big one she wont take it, but she freaks out when she doesnt have it, this is only when she sleeps she doesnt use it any time, will using the small pacifier affect her at all? also what table foods shouldn't she eat, i know she cant have honey, and ive heard tomato sauce not sure if its true though, thanks for helping

i started getting dizzy two weeks ago, it only lasted 6 days, it felt like i was drunk constantly, even when i was sitting down! then, about eight days ago, my ovaries where slightly hurting and then it stoped after a day. Six days ago, i began to have mentrual cramps, like it feels like im about to get my period every second of they day for the past week! im suppose to get my period today, but it hasnt come yet, and today the cramps arent very bad, they are barely there at all....so what is up here? could i be pregnant? ive never had cramps a weeks before a due period, ive always had them the day of my period. and yes there is a chance i could be pregnant...

My husband and I just started trying for our second. The first time I was on the pill and got pregnant. This time we are actually trying. This period started early and has it been rough. Plus I smelled some coffee and just about got sick. I also tried to eat something and took one bite and just about got sick. Plus I am going to the bathroom a lot more.

I just had my first appt - and the midwife told me that it was fine to drink pop (even diet pop) in moderation during pregnancy... I am pretty well addicted to diet pepsi - but stopped drinking it the second I found out I was pregnant... but have started again since the midwife said it was ok. I only plan to drink 1-3 cans per week.

just curious really, cos my 21 month old has always loved spicy food since about 9 months old when i gave him a little taste of my chicken passanda (thats a mild dish admittedly) the other day i was eating a extra hot pepperami (the black one not the red one, the black one is the spiciest one!) unhealthy i know! anyway my son was moaning for a bit so i gave him a tiny taste thinking that'd put him off but he loved it and ate half of the pepperami! he loves chilli too! anyone elses toddler the same?

I got my period on Jan 7th but the fetility monitor showed surge on the 18th which seems early to me. Not the ususal 2 weeks after period. Should I still trust that the 18th is right? then do I assume my period would be 2 weeks after the 18th or would i expect it as usual. I am normally 28 day cycle.

I've traveled several times a year with my children (now three of them) and have been fortunate not to have had a true toddler meltdown at anypoint.

I prepare the best I can and my boys are pretty good travelers but the thought of being tossed is scaring me for my spring travel plans.

Does anyone know if its possible to turn someone in for child abuse for over feeding their child. I know a person who's child is only 4 years old and they weight 165lbs and they are only 4ft tall. The child is obese and the mother claims the kid has glandular problems but She clearly over feeds her kid. I mean this kid eats way more things then they need to. Candy,cookies,cake,ice cream anything she wants she gets. No excersize. So can i report the parents?
