Yes you can - just got to your doctor - they have confidentiality rules :) Your doctor is likely to ask you to tell your parents, but if you refuse they will not push the issue - and they are not allowed to tell your parents that you asked.

If you are too scared to go to the doctor, get in touch with Brook http://www.brook.org.uk/content/ for advice on where to get the pill :)

Yes you can. You can go to your local GUM clinic or Brook. I am assuming that you are UK not US as you have said under 16. Even if you go to your doctors they are not allowed to tell your parents and can only suggest to you that you tell them. If you refuse they will drop it. If you are going for period related issues I would suggest the contraceptive injection rather than the pill as you only have to go every 12 weeks and there will be not fiddling with pills and packets and what days and stuff. I had to go on the injection when I was 15 because I was in that much pain. Good Luck.

If you want it for period/hormonal reason, you should be able to speak to your mum about it.

I went on the pill for the same reason when I was 13. Tell your mum to go to the doctors with you, and discuss the options with your doctor. They will speak about the pill being one of the most popular options for you to use, and you can voice your interest in that option.

I don't think lying about it, and going behind her back will help the issue - What happens if she finds it?!!

How do you know the pill will assist your period-related problems without going to doctors and being seen and advised by them, not all medical prescription work for everyone! Speak to a GP AND your mum, I think its the best way.

yeah course you can ... look in the phone book for your nearest sexual health clinic you chat with them for a bit... and they give you 3 months worth of pills... a date to come back and get some more ... free condoms and even the morning after pill etc they are really understanding ... i went because i started having sex for the first time ...when i was 15 and they were very understanding .. you normally find that they are run by the NHS and they have a client confidentiality law .. so you will be fine ( if your not from the UK ... sorry you probably dont understand what i am going on about... as i know its all different in the USA.. )

If you are in England, the answer is YES.
My daughter went on the pill at the age of 14, I was not informed and therefore did not know anything about it.
If you have a problem speak to your mum, she is not an ogre and will help you all she can, I wish my daughter had spoken to me,life would have been so much easier,

yes u can but u should really talk it through with ur mum. im sure she would prefer to know and i think that she will be proud that u are being sensible and taking precautions unlike so many young girls these days. I hope my daughter will feel comfortable enough to come and tell me that she wants to go on the pill. Good luck!

I am sure you can. Speak to your Doctor. Don't be afraid to ask your mum, I had to go on the pill for the same reason as you and she understood completely.

Yes you can. Thats for sure. I know you feel scared about asking your mother but she could feel very hurt when she finds out and that you excluded her. Try to find the courage to talk things over with her...I think you should be at least 14 though for your periods to become established before you suppress them by taking the pill. Good luck.

you can go without telling your mum, the doctor is legally not allowed to tell them if you don't want them to.Although you are only supposed to use the pill for 10 years so if you start now you will be younger than 26 when it will be unsafe for you to keep on using it (apparent health risks) so maybe you should think of erm other methods.
