just curious really, cos my 21 month old has always loved spicy food since about 9 months old when i gave him a little taste of my chicken passanda (thats a mild dish admittedly) the other day i was eating a extra hot pepperami (the black one not the red one, the black one is the spiciest one!) unhealthy i know! anyway my son was moaning for a bit so i gave him a tiny taste thinking that'd put him off but he loved it and ate half of the pepperami! he loves chilli too! anyone elses toddler the same?

my 7 year old son and my 2 year old daughter will both eat an Indian meal.............
When they were babies I used to give them mildly spicy food so they had a varied pallet
It seemed to work, my son will eat the pepperami's as well (I won't even eat them lol)

I work with small children in your sons age group and I have to say that you'd be amazed what foods children take to. One of my moms hadded me some kind of chip that i knew was spicy- I just didn't know the extent of how spicy it was! I canhandle spicy so it surprised me that i almost died when i couldn't fin water. Her 28 mont old son howeve put me to shame by taking the spicy chip, for the first time, and eating it. He thought for a moment, his mother worried as i was, and then fell on the floor screaming MINE!!!when she wouldn't give him more. 2 hours later I saw the child walking away happily with his chips in tow. I have many more stories like this.

My son is now 5 and adores spicy foods, especially anything with garlic in, he also loves Chinese. He will not eat anything unless it has a spicy sauce or gravy with it. When he was a baby and didnt have any teeth, he used to gum on Chinese spare ribs

I haven't got one but my friend's daughter loves spicy food so much that when she'd be here she would eat chicken smothered in hot sauce with my brother and just love it. It all started when I used to stick my finger into hot sauce in put it in her mouth when she was about 9 months old.

My 2 year previous likes spice, so does my 18 month previous niece. no longer something over the right, yet i do no longer separate as quickly as I make chili, and it has some bite to it. i've got made a stew that I unintentional used crimson pepper tomatoes in it, and he or she enjoyed it. Eggs with medium salsa, curry rooster, indian nutrition, ginger beef. i don't get why each and every physique is afraid to grant their babies spices and severe flavored ingredients. do no longer bypass overboard on it, yet a splash little bit of bite won't harm her.

I got caught out teh same way, and my 2 year old daughter likes spicy things.
But I have noticed that only if I'm eating it, or if its from my plate she will eat it. If you actually gave him something spicy as part of his meal, he prob wouldnt touch it.

My 2 year old loves salsa. People used to give me strange looks when I would take him to a Mexican restaurant and let him eat the chips and salsa; he's done that since he was a year old and loves it.
