My older two kids (a 6 year old girl and an 8 year old boy) are just becoming interested in sleepovers with their friends. At their current ages it seems like no big deal, but my husband and I disagree on whether, in a couple of years, it should be permissable for both of them to be allowed to have a friend over on the same night. We're not talking about two massive slumber parties occurring simultaneously here - just one buddy each. But obviously that results in non-related minors with hormones that we will be responsible for monitoring.

Any opinions? And if you think simultaneous sleepovers would be inappropriate, at what ages do you think we should start prohibiting them?

Hello, my husband and I are planning on starting a family this summer and I can't help but start thinking about the whole pregnancy and delivery process right now. I am tremendously terrified of the thought of child labor and I would like some information on natural vs. drug assisted labor. I am afraid of pain but I am also afraid of drugs and needles that can cause permanent damage on your spine. I was wondering if people who have first hand experience on either could tell me the pros and cons and realities of what they went through. Thank you :)

My 3 month old daughter has been a little constipated. Although she has been have a bowel movement every day, its a much smaller amount than usual and its kind of hard and sticky. I have tried (my doctor recomended) Karo syrup for the constipation and while that has helped her go it has not softened her stool at all. Is there anything I can try to help soften it?

when i reached age 29 my periods became inconsistent. there were times that it reaches up to 9 or more days. a year ago i was diagnosed to have a polyps on my endometrium. doctor had remove them thru dillatation and currettage. and i was made to take oral contraceptive pills to regulate my periods. i stopped the pills since i got married, and its been 3mos now yet i'm still not pregnant. maybe because of my long days of menstruation, and my fertile days cannot be predicted. recently, my ob-gyn gave me clomid on the 2nd day of my period, yet until today, (9th day) i still have menstruation, now i don't know when is my fertile dates anymore. i was thinking maybe i should fix my irregular menstruation first, because i'm starting to have lower bp and i'm so pale now. but how do i fix my problem with my long days of menstruation? how do i get pregnant with this dillema? help please.thanks

I see parents who spank there kids or punish them if they cry. Thinking that they are only wanting something or being whiney... and not one thought of them being depressed or sad goes through there mind! When I was a young child I expierenced alot of anxiety ( im bipolar my mom didnt know at the time) and when I felt that I didnt know what to do and it was scary! But instead of trying to find out whats wrong with me, my mom would spank me and tell me, " If u dont stop right now I will give u something to cry about!" Little kids are humans too! What gives "adults" the right to be the only ones who could possibly become depressed!?! I remember my mom and others telling me that teen suicide is becuz the teen didnt get what they wanted! Thats true to some sense but u know it really ticks me off how arragont adults can be when it comes to how younger ppl emotions act! lil kids DO have more then 2 emotions ( happyness and whineyness). Im just curious WHY adults think that a child only crys

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 9 months now, with no luck so far. My sister accidentally got pregnant (and married the guy). Anyways, she and I are very close. I have told her many times before the baby names that my husband and I have already chosen for our children (whenever we finally conceive). Well, now she has decided to name her baby the name that I had chosen. I feel very betrayed. Her best friend did the same thing to her years ago and my sister never forgave her. How could she do the same to me? Should I just forget about it, or am I right to feel this way?

I did a pregnancy test first thing this morning (Clearblue brand) and at first the negative line was very bold with a faint vertical line, which then turned darker after about 10 seconds. Do you think this is a positive result as both lines didn't appear at the same time?

My daughter and I are bored. We've played with bricks, watched a cartoon, scribbled with crayons, played with the aqua-draw and I don't want to get the paints out today. (Hung over and its too messy!) Does anyone have any good ideas for games/activities for children this age? (preferably - due to my hangover that don't involve much running around!) thanks!
