Am I correct?

My last name is hyphenated with my maiden name and married name. I have thought about hyphenating my childs name as well-- but will this cause him grief over the years? My husband is fine with it-- but we also dont him hating it or being made fun of for it. Our little guy is due in March and we have been kicking around the idea-- but I am really just not sure. Is there anyone out there who has hypenated their childs name and they are say in the teens now? How is it for them? Any thoughts?

Just wondering. this is my second pregnancy and for some unexplainable reason i am so scared of the baby being born early. my son was actually 1 week overdue so there is no medical reason for this baby to come early, i am just so paraniod about this one , way more paraniod than i was about the first pregnancy.

I have never been pregnant, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 7 months now and for some reason this month I feel different. I have a few different signs that might indicate pregnancy but the one that has me a little concerned is this.... I do check my cervix as a means of determining my most fertile days and I keep note of them so that I know what to look for the next month. ( please don't lecture me on this my doctor is aware that I am doing this ) For the last two or three days when I check my cervix it has been soft and closed and changes from a medium to high position sometimes but this is what is bothering me now, things up there seem really swollen and so does my female parts down below. I don't know if this is a bad thing or something that could be a positive anyone with help I would appreciate it a ton

My husband's ex girlfriend is having a baby next month (she just happens to be a good friend, she actually introduced us) and I need a unique baby shower gift. I don't want to get her clothes because she already has tons from her step brother, so I want it to be something original. I'm hoping I have a boy because I'm right behind her ;) That means plenty of hand me downs!

I love reading stories about funny incidents or misunderstandings between parents and children, my mom always tells this story of when I was about 3 sitting at the dinner table:

mom: Jenny, what would you like to drink
me: milk

me: NOO I said Juice!!
mom: No, you said milk, do you want milk or juice?
me: MILK!!

me: NO! I want Juice!
mom: Jennifer, you said Milk!
me: MOM! Milk is spanish for JUICE!

haha, I must have seen something on seasame street, im not sure where I got it from, but I can't wait to have my own kids and have some of these funny moments, what are some of yours??

I'm married and trying to conceive. Today I'm 10 or 11 days past ovulation. This morning I took a HPT with first morning urine. I watched the test long enought to see the control line appear. I looked at the test for about 15 seconds after the control line appeared and then threw it away. (I figured the positive line would show upright away if I was pregnant). Three hours later I went and checked it again out of curiosity and it was positive. I've never had this happen before when I wasn't pregnant, so does this mean I am.

I am going to take another test, but I wanted to know your opinions based on this and any personal experiences would be great!!!

My son's class is over filled, under staffed and he isn't getting any one on one attention at school. When I work with him at home doing his homework, he gets angry w/me and it all seems to just go in ear and out the other. I've been told that he's one of, if not, the smartest children in his class however he does need help from time to time in understanding things. Any idea how I can make homework more fun or get him to start paying attention.

Additionally, they are now teaching the kids to read using "sight words" instead of phonics. This means that he memorizes the words that are given to him weekly but doesn't know how to sound out a word in a sentence that he doesn't know. Sight words verses phonics is just confusing him even more..........PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks,
OCD-First Time Mommy

My son is 7 weeks old and today is my first day back at work. I breastfeed and having a lot of trouble pumping right now. I've pumped several times at home with him and at least got 6 ounces at a time. I've tried 3 times in the past 4.5 hours since I have been here and I am not getting much at all. My breasts both feel very full, but not much will come out. I realize this is probably because I am emotional today and having trouble adjusting.. but I need to be able to pump..
Any suggestions???

Hello ladies! This will be my 4th pregnancy if this turns out positive. And as they say, every pregnancy is different! Well for the last 4 days I have had super greasy hair. I never have this problem. I can go about 3 days without washing my hair before I would have this problem. I don't...but you know. Well I've been showering every day, using the same shampoo and conditioner, everything...but for some reason my hair has been super greasy! I don't know why. And my face some too... I was just wonder if anyone had this as a sign, or has it now while pregnant. Thanks ladies!

If a pregnant woman is not ready to parent, and the biological father is unfit, why do people think the girl is being selfish if she chooses to place the child for adoption?

I am pregnant with my second baby. I want this one to be different. I found out what I was having with my son. I want this one to be a suprise! Hubby wants to find out. He said at least he should find out so he can decorate the nursery (He won't let me see it.) I trust him that he won't tell anyone and will keep it a secret from me, but I don't want anything to slip up. This baby is just as much his as it is mine and I realize I should consider what he wants, but I still don't want to know. Am I being selfish? Hubby says that I can pick out all girl stuff and all boy stuff and he will pick up what ever it is. He wants to know why I want to not find out, and the biggest reason is sharing the suprise with the family. He suggested getting the u/s tech to write it on a piece of paper and finding out with the family at a party. I don't know what to do and keep him happy.

My cousin and his wife are planning to start a family. Both of them carry a gene for "Primordial Dwarfism" and plan on using in vitro fertilization to ensure that they have a Primordial Dwarf. They want to do this to produce a child with a lower "Environmental Impact" and believe that the human race as a whole should deliberately select for various forms of dwarfism to reduce the human race's need for natural resources.

One of their fertility doctors, himself a dwarf, told them, "Six Billion 'Little People' would need a fraction of the food, energy and resources of the giants clomping around today."

I'm trying to figure out if this is "Right" or "Wrong." I know their doctors say it's OK, because their goal is to help the environment, but I'm not too sure.

Are "Little People" Really an evolutionary response to overpopulation???

... If you found out that she wasn't having what you had hoped that she would have?

My mother found out that I was having a girl (which I am THRILLED about, by the way), but she wanted me to have a boy. Ever since then, she doesn't care at all about my pregnancy, and makes it obvious that she wants nothing to do with it. She didn't want my sister and I to go through baby clothes at her house (my sister lives out of town, and she and I were looking forward to this for weeks) at her house. She has made it sound like I'm such a horrid human being because I wanted a baby shower (it's been almost ten years since I was last pregnant, and it was with a BOY. SHE gave away all of the stuff that I had used with him).

Am I over reacting? Is this normal behavior for a mother who's about to have her second grandchild?
